With a nationwide internet shutdown in Iran lasting over a month, international monitoring and the free flow of information have been severely disrupted, concealing the regime’s domestic repression, and placing the lives of these political prisoners under an immediate and irreversible threat.

An independent fact-checking has debunked the "Ayatollahwood" claim pushed on Social Media Claims circulated on social media alleging that Iranian photojournalists have resorted to “actors” to stage scenes in the aftermath of the recent strikes in Tehran. An independent review of the available images, videos, and photographer accounts does not support this claim rigorously examined by the independent Canada-based fact-checking institute "Factnameh". Key Findings: - The individuals appearing across multiple images are visible because several photographers documented the same scene simultaneously. - Multiple independent photographers Mehdi Ghasemi, Vahid Bayat and Vahid Hosseini captured the scene from different angles - Additional video footage confirms the same individuals present at the same time and place - Geographic consistency shows all images correspond to one bombing site, not separate staged events - Facial comparisons between separate geographical incidents show clear physical differences, undermining the “same subject” claim The documented destruction, presence of residents, casualties, and coverage by multiple photographers and video footage would imply an implausibly large-scale staged production in central Tehran for which no evidence has emerged at all.
