I don't think we're getting a spin-off game. The Spin-off games tend to have less than 2 months worth of development. For this project, he's been busy since at least May. While I do agree it's probably for Comiket, whatever it is, it needs more than 2 months of development.

He also said in the past that fixing the hitboxes would be too hard because it would change the whole balance of the game

(the player hurtbox is also accidentally less than a pixel but this evil ass game seems balanced around that)

ZUN : I wanted to go to Taiwan Reitaisai for June, but my schedule was too busy, so I couldn't go. I was also invited to TouhouFest in the US, but couldn't go for the same reason. Seems like ZUN is busy with something. We might get something new this year after all. We'll see.

The ballot was great, but Smash is at its best when it isn't listening to what flavour of the month fans want.
Fans circle jerk eachother and end up convincing themselves weird characters like Reimu is a lock.
Majority of fan rosters are 99% the same shit. No creativity.
