@michaelkhaycee I like the headcanon of Aang's animal companions resonating with the Water Tribe siblings like they were *THE* squad. If Sokka does this for Momo, I imagine Katara was quiet for days straight after Appa passed away. If she spoke, it woulda been only to comfort Aang.

At times Sokka would go to the place Momo was buried and leave a few fruits, especially peaches, the same thing Momo had brought him the day they met.

@Edrith_Sunnah This also implies a lot of good about Izumi as Zuko literally wouldn't give up the throne until he was sure the next Fire Lord was ready for the position. (Something none of the other Fire Lords did.) I really wish we had seen more of her, she seems great.

Fire Lord Zuko's early retirement is one of the most underrated parts of his story.
After spending his youth chasing the Avatar, surviving abuse, helping end a century-long war, and helping rebuild the world, Zuko eventually stepped down and passed the throne to his daughter, Izumi.
No coup. No scandal. No desperate attempt to cling to power.
Just a Fire Lord who fulfilled his duty, trusted the next generation, and knew the future was in good hands. For someone who once believed his honor depended on becoming Fire Lord, there's something poetic about him willingly giving up the throne and watching Fire Lord Izumi lead the nation he fought so hard to change.
