In light of the recent attacks on bitcoiners, I am going to postpone all promotional content I had planned on posting today to promote the @DecoyWalletApp Anroid launch The time on this platform will be better spent getting to the bottom of potentially discovering the attacker(s) and educating others on best practices to keep their stacks secure in the medium term during this transition rather than me throwing a bunch of promo content all over the timeline My deepest condolences go out to those effected by what happened this weekend These types of events are what drove me to build DECOY as an effort to protect bitcoiners against losing their stack to those less willing to put in the work to achieve financial freedom and sovereignty for themselves My goal with DECOY is to strengthen the mission with the community to make self-custody feel safe and free from any and all attack vectors the world may throw at us For as long as I am alive, I will continue to plug away at this goal until the mission is complete Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns about these recent events. The Bitcoin community often uses phrases such as “Don’t Trust, Verify” and “Open Source Everything” Whether these phrases are worn on cool hats or expressed verbally with purpose, they carry a much deeper impact on the future of the world as we continue to drive a higher standard through proof of work In order to align DECOY with community ethos, we have officially published the Decoy Wallet App source code to a public GitHub repository for anyone to audit You now have public access to review how the Decoy Wallet App was built and how the mobile app handles important and sensitive information, including generated Decoy seed phrases, monitored receive addresses, and location data while maintaining maximum privacy Moving forward, Decoy Wallet App releases will include a tag to the public repository and the corresponding commit hash so users can verify the public source version associated with the app release on their device I am excited to continue to work FOR Bitcoiners in order to provide a physical safety tool we can all rely on for help in dangerous situations. This is one of the many ways I will execute on delivering my promises to the community and hopefully provide a positive contribution to the space Thank you -Mitch🧡
