@growingwisdom Rain is very localized these days. We've been dry for a while & I have noticed earlier than normal defoliation of the inner leaves of shrubs/trees &/or fall color unless they have been watered consistently.

Tend to change early if they are under stress. I'm wondering is the dry spell putting stress on trees enough that they're going to change early? How will this impact foliage season with no rain for the next 10 days? Vibrancy will be there because of the lack of rain.

The Massachusetts legislature failed to pass ANY climate legislation, but that did not stop our local group @plasticfreeMass from pushing to get the bottle bill passed right up to the last minute. Pictured here is Eileen Ryan from @plasticfreeMass tabeling at the weekly Charlesgate Farmers Market on July 28th, where she provided educational resources on plastic use and pollution. Passing activists were able to sign postcards urging the legislature to boost recycling and update the container-deposit law; to increase the types of containers eligible for a bottle deposit and double the deposit from 5 cents to 10. Currently, they are mobilizing to send Letters To The Editors expressing their dismay at the lack of climate, including plastics, legislation. We commend them for all their hard work to pass such an important bill. #plasticpollutes #plasticfreemass #bottlebill
