Last night’s festivities as we say good bye to Keni. He will be going back to Japan to continue his career as a medical doctor! We will miss you! We can’t wait to share the exciting work Keni did during his time in the lab. Look out for future announcements!

🚨 New Publication alert! Our latest work led by former grad student, Chris is now out in @NatureComms! Here, we use #cryoET to show the interaction of the #SARSCoV2 spike protein and platelets leading to membrane deformation. Read all about it here: racy.be/c4Sw9.

We hypothesize that this interaction on the platelet surface could trigger the deformation and potentially contribute to coagulopathic events observed in #COVID19

🚨Preprint Alert! We would like to share our latest @biorxivpreprint to come out of the lab (tinyurl.com/5y7sj8m4) led by grad student Chris Kuhn. Here we used cryoET (#teamtomo) to observe platelet deformation induced by the #SARSCoV2 spike protein.

Pleased to share that the optogenetic microtubule severing tool #Optokatanin✂️ is now out in @CurrentBiology !!! authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S09… Movie shows opto-katanin being used to locally sever microtubules in two locations (marked by blue boxes) inside a neuron.
