As Eid approaches, I want to categorically implore us not to stress ourselves about the sacrificial animal. The beauty about Islam is that it makes everything simple for us all, sacrificing animals is not compulsory, if you are not financially buoyant enough, please don't stress yourself with it, don't borrow or steal to do the sacrifice. Allah says He is more interested in your piety than the animals you sacrifice, again, it is not a do or die affair, the sacrifice isn't a competition of whose ram is bigger or who slaughtered a cow or that. If you cannot afford cow, Islam permitted you to buy ram, if that is too expensive for you, go for a goat, if it is also expensive and it is chicken you can afford to slaughter, please go for them. If perhaps, you can't afford to buy anything, it is okay to skip the Layyah, please don't send yourself to early graves in order of trying to compete or please your neighbours or family members. As it stands, i don't even know where my next money will come but I believe Allah will run it for us to also partake in the Layyah. May Allah ease all of our affairs and bless us with Halal Rizq to carter for our families.

@Sarki_sultan Buying rams two or 3 months to sallah is a very wrong move. The profit margin is always lower than those that guy 3 weeks to sallah.

Honestly, selling rams can be really complicated sometimes. Their price is never the same as when you bought them, especially after a week of feeding. A single ram can eat nothing less than ₦800–₦1,000 daily, so you can’t expect the seller to still sell you that ₦200k ram at the same price after 1–2 weeks. The closer Sallah gets, the higher ram prices go. Most sellers calculate their actual cost + profit + transportation + feed and other expenses. Those who buy rams early understand the stress I’m talking about, but buying earlier is still the best option.
