This 13-year-old kid, Austin Appelbee, gets swept miles out to sea with his mom and two younger siblings on paddleboards, rough waves, shark-infested waters (great whites spotted nearby just a day before), night falling fast, no rescue in sight. He ditches his leaking kayak, even tosses his life jacket to move faster. Instead of giving up, he prays hard, sings Christian songs, and hears God urging him, "Keep swimming, keep swimming." and swims 4km (2.5 miles) for a grueling 4 HOURS through massive swells. He finally hits shore, collapses from exhaustion, but doesn't stop. He runs another 2km along the beach to their hotel to grab his mom's phone from her bag and calls emergency services calmly telling them his family is still out there, kilometers offshore. That call triggers the helicopter rescue; his mom and siblings are found clinging to the boards after 10+ hours at sea! Everyone makes it home safe. Austin gives ALL the glory to God, "It wasn't me, it was God the whole time. I kept praying and praying." What an incredible young hero!
