Liverpool's 'summer of madness' is delighting its fans in equal proportion to upsetting rival supporters. Once the Ekitike deal is concluded, transfer fee outlay will hit £260m- with further expensive incomings expected. This thread explains how the club is financing it.

It talks to just how dreary and detestable Arsenal's brand of football is - led by a manager who is massively dislikeable - that they're making the vast majority of neutrals root for the biggest gang of cheats in the history of English football.

@SimonBrundish Mo would've broken Rushie's goalscoring record if that was the threshold for contact warranting a pen.

@MoChatra @Eathen_1892 Interesting. How big of a loss will missing out on CL next season change how they operate ?

@justhmmmm1289 Would increase to just over 70k (if the Main Stand design is replicated), which wouldn't be far off the Old Trafford capacity.

@MoChatra If that was to go ahead, surely that still wouldn't come close to United but ig the goal should be for the company to rival Spurs / Arsenal

@GSB70366229 It won't ruin it but it will have an impact (loss of revenue, less attractive to potential new signings, etc).

Of the club's bank debt, the club paid off a significant chunk of it during 24/25, paying £47m to reduce it down to £69m.

@justhmmmm1289 Easiest way is to rebuild the SKDS- but that would need all the properties in the two adjacent street to be bought out (which could take a few years).

@MoChatra This is kinda an issue. There's only so many times you can renovate Anfield and I absolutely do not want a new stadium but we'll lag further behind United especially here

Overall, 24/25 was a superb year financially. The club is set to generate circa £750m from its main revenue sources in 25/26 as well as an additional receipt of over £30m. This should allow ample funds to supplement proceeds from player sales to enable another busy summer window.

In a bitter blow to those who advocate for clubs to be completely self-sustaining, 24/25 was the second successive year the owners injected funds into the club. After investing Dynasty Equity monies into LFC in 23/24, FSG invested a further £19m.

In the last couple of years, the club has introduced share-based payments (not to be confused with dividends) and a charge of nearly £10m was captured as part of the wage bill relating to this (this incentive will relate to senior administrative staff).

The club's highest paid director (presumably CEO Billy Hogan) saw their pay increase by 6.9% year-on-year, to £2.3m:

Further agents' fees will have been incurred between February and May 2025 when the contract renewals for Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk were completed. The cost for agents' fees for the current season will likely exceed £60m.

The club spent £186m on other operating expenditure and this included £20.8m on agents' fees up until February 2025 (this would include the summer 2024 and January 2025 transfer windows):
