@MoChatra I don't have either, but he mentioned the amount on a talkSPORT programme. Yes agree, £90M in the Puma deal.

@YNWA971 I've not seen an formal announcement of a renewal of the Etihad deal. Estimated men's team will benefit by around £30m from the Puma uplift.

@ITKSpace Worth mentioning that Liverpool cannot sign Kennet Eicchorn this summer. He's 16. He can join a club in any other major European league now, but post-Brexit you have to be 18 to sign for an English club. And you can't sign the player now and loan them out until they are 18.

My dear loyal audience, I was the first to report weeks ago that Kennet Eichhorn’s dream is to play for England’s most myth-drowned institution, Liverpool Football Club, the first to even link this young jewel to the institution, the first to open the door to a story others are only now beginning to follow. The talented midfielder has gone so far as to instruct his agency, 11WINS, which also has headquarters in Liverpool, to initiate contact with senior board members at the club, and although the agency was initially informed that Liverpool were not actively in the market for this profile, a meeting was eventually granted due to the agency’s importance, existing relationships and the need to preserve strong ties around their players. I can now reveal that the dialogue has developed further, which is why Sky Germany have now reported concrete talks taking place, with my current understanding being that Liverpool and Arne Slot, following their end-of-season review, can in fact see a future for Eichhorn, although no final decision has been made yet, while the player himself would be wholeheartedly prepared to make the move if Liverpool truly materialise their interest, as mentioned weeks ago. There is also a far more strategic scenario being discussed behind the scenes, one in which Liverpool would trigger Eichhorn’s €11.75m release clause, immediately loan him to RB Leipzig, and use the entire construction as a calculated negotiation instrument, potentially creating a pathway to secure Yan Diomandé at a more favourable price while strengthening their long-term relationship with Leipzig.

ℹ️ It’s worth mentioning that Kennet Eichhorn’s agency 11Wins, whose headquarters are based in both Munich and Liverpool, spent months attempting to arrange meetings and establish concrete talks with senior Liverpool figures regarding the 16-year-old central midfielder, internally described by many in Germany as a generational talent with abilities rarely seen before at that age. The feeling around the player’s camp was that Eichhorn would have been highly attracted by the idea of joining England’s crown jewel institution and de facto biggest club, however despite repeated efforts from the agency side through various intermediaries, Liverpool ultimately signalled that they are currently not actively prioritising midfield prospects in this age category. This has led to the current situation where Kennet Eichhorn is now very close to agreeing personal terms with Manchester City, with the internal plan at this stage being an immediate loan to Leverkusen as part of his long-term development pathway.

@Corballyred @ThatAnfieldBuzz Klopp had more financial backing in real terms than Arteta. Arteta never got within 30% of Pep’s total spend. Over the 4 years Klopp challenged Pep, he was within 15% of Man City spending. Comparing points tallies across seasons is silly too. The PL is so much harder now.

The Klopp vs Arteta debate is as silly as the fake Ronaldo-Messi one. With Arteta’s funding, Klopp would’ve won multiple Premier Leagues and Champions Leagues. Arteta’s ceiling this season is 85 points — Klopp hit 92, 97, and 99 while going toe-to-toe with prime Guardiola. Outside of Arsenal fans, nobody takes that debate seriously. Please stop this nonsense👍

@Sangbaran @slbsn ? Chelsea will increase their turnover by around £45m for CWC and around £60m in CL in their 25/26 accounts. That's £105m, which is a long way from £200m

@slbsn Not wrong actually. Cwc and UCL can easily add 200 million. Problem is it will be back to current levels if they miss top 5

@rudkin_abigail I don't think it's Slot that's the big problem. The quality in the squad is paper thin, it falls back on Hughes/Edwards. The £100 M. spent on Wirtz could probably have been spent "better".

Times ran out for the manager, sadly. Gave me some of the best days of my life last season, but it’s really hit its end in my eyes. Tried to keep the faith as much as I could in him and his plan, but things have gone stale.

@themagic_tophat @KieranMaguire @BlueCityBrain Some club wage bills per accounts differ to figures they report for PSR/SCR purposes Manchester City's wage bill in UEFA reports is routinely higher than that per accounts - £63m higher(!) in 2023-24 - so #MCFC were likely still highest payers in 2024-25. Anyone know why the wages Man City reports to Uefa are so wildly different from what they report in their accounts? Is it because the Uefa submission includes a share of wages from CFG, which are accounted for elsewhere in the club accounts? @KieranMaguire @BlueCityBrain

@themagic_tophat @bobbyfairview I asked Chris Wheatherspoon from The Athletic about the CWC money. He replied 30/40% of Chelsea and City's money from the tournament is included in their 24/25 accounts.

@bobbyfairview Chelsea may not have recognised it in their accounts though. If I were them and got a first year free pass in the Uefa settlement, I would try to push recognition of that income over to the subsequent year.

The sad part is that the £342m loss includes at least £45m of the CWC prize money, because the Round of 16 was completed for Chelsea before 30 June 2025.
