Chicago parks turned into tent cities, drugs dropped as kids play soccer, because “compassionate” progressive policies won’t let anyone enforce a camping ban. Everyone gets the same equity now.
Zero consequences, zero clean public spaces.
Enjoy your woke supermajority, Illinois.
You voted for it. You own it.
You can try calling reps to stop HB 1429 before every park from Chicago to Naperville to Springfield looks like these pics.
But at this point, maybe every Illinois town SHOULD mirror its voting base: inclusive and insane.

Illinois Dems just surrendered your parks to tent cities. HB 1429 just advanced out of the Illinois House Housing Committee 11-4. Kevin Olickal’s bill blocks clearing homeless encampments, demands 3-day notice, bans fines for living on public land, and strips local home rule authority. Even the Illinois Municipal League opposed it. Crushing taxes and residents fleeing Chicago, yet they prioritize tents over family parks. This isn’t compassion. It’s contempt for every taxpayer.
