One thing Arteta needs to further acquire from Pep's management gospel (and Sir Alex was a GOAT at this respect) is the humility to realise you may have made a bad or average signing, rather than back that signing to the hilt. At times you may seek out a replacement for a perceived weak link and the replacement ends up being worse than the original issue... which is fine, we are human - but doubling down on that and not realising you've cocked up can have adverse consequences.. best thing to do is get rid of the erroneous new component and try again. Look at Pep with Chygrynsky, Zlatan, Bravo, Danilo, Nolito. In fairness he had a huge budget which allowed him to 'erase' these signings from the record but if the likes of Raya, Kiwior and Havertz are not upgrading the side tactically (Kai FWIW I think can still give Arsenal a lot of tactical variety or at worst be a rotation option) then you have to go again and look for better upgrades. It is why I find the idea of some Arsenal fans calling for Arteta's head premature. He needs to be given the chance to iron out any missteps in the squad building process. There will be seasons where a manager makes signings that almost take the club backwards or sideways, but as long as he can learn from that - it will make him stronger. Some managers are worth giving that time to learn - Arteta hasn't earned write off status yet. #ARSLIV #Arsenal #MCFC
