@StatsTeslaApp I can see that. With their move to end to end, LiDAR fusion could be tricky. I just hope then their depth maps improve cuz it is still failing on abstract objects. Not sure if that's down to their monocular depth NN or some downscaling later in the pipeline.

@Model_FY HD 3D maps are not required by LiDAR; they are required by the localization algorithm at test time (eg, particle filtering). The bison system works based on features generated by the NN backbone; not necessarily depth

Some people: I don’t care if it works or not. I just think it needs to have LiDAR and I know this because I’ve done “my own research”

@StatsTeslaApp That's really surprising seeing the generated depth maps. Maybe then their internal voxel maps are running way lower then their monocular depth passes. You have a link to that , always love hearing him speak

@Model_FY I remember Karpathy demonstrated with data that LiDAR reconstruction was less dense than the one generated using cameras. He did not use the cost as the reason

This car is imo the best Tesla, it’s big inside, lots of cargo space yet it dosent feel like a big car when your driving. And towing up to like 1800kg. I don’t even want an X cause I know it isn’t gonna handle as good😂

@n0tN1ko @danielarrano @Tesla @elonmusk Now! Service at my center used to be AWFUL. Like you would wait 30-45mins just to be checked in. Hours before they even let you know what's going to happen. Weeks for a fix. Not ordering right parts. Now it's amazing however :) in and out 15 mins.

@n0tN1ko @Model_FY @danielarrano @Tesla @elonmusk I’m on my 4th will no real issues on any of them. All car manufacturers have lemons, that’s why there’s a lemon law.

@n0tN1ko @danielarrano @Tesla @elonmusk - bass failed for a solid 4 days. - deep gashes in paint from delivery (I missed it sadly) I think that's it. Overall "Baymax" has been one quirky car 🥴

@n0tN1ko @danielarrano @Tesla @elonmusk Oh my bad yeah. Ik first batches are rough. - odometer didn't work off the lot - panel gaps (normal) - fast charging failed on a road trip - AC is being "weird"now - hood latch issue for a bit

@danielarrano @Tesla @elonmusk I know it sounds dumb to say this but like you can’t compare the build quality from 2 years ago to today. So when you say “don’t buy a Tesla” all you can speak for is the 2019/20 pre refresh model. So much has happened since then so this becomes very misleading

Teslas are some of the best looking cars on the market and they’re capable of being autonomous without any ugly hardware mounted to them.
