Montgomery County must bring back School Resource Officers to MCPS. As councilmembers from Montgomery County’s two largest municipalities, @Yamilrx and I join @Andrew_Friedson and @dawn_luedtke in the belief student safety must be prioritized. Our schools need trusted, trained officers who are part of the school community and build relationships with students. Thank you to @John7News for covering this issue. This is not about politics. It is about protecting students and giving our schools the support they need to prevent violence before it happens.

Think Montgomery County has no hunger? A recent report shows 34% of residents are food insecure. That's nearly 400,000 people struggling to feed their families weekly. We can change this. #FoodInsecurity #CommunitySupport

New Moderately Mic’d Episode just dropped. Former Montgomery County Council President and current Manna Food Center CEO Craig Rice joins us for a conversation about food insecurity, leadership, community trust, and the reality many families face in one of the nation’s wealthiest counties. This was an important and eye-opening discussion. Watch here: youtu.be/drYkYdLhW2g

“Former Rep. David Trone (D-Md.), who previously represented Maryland’s 6th District and wants the seat back, and Rep. April McClain Delaney (D-Md.), its current representative, have been trading accusations that the other candidate actually secretly supports President Donald Trump’s agenda” huffpost.com/entry/april-mc…

This graphic represents performance of a cohort of children that would have been in 2nd grade when schools closed in 2020 and in mostly virtual education until schools opened in 2020-2021. A time when there was a huge amount of omitted and compressed (math) content and disruption

Is @MCPS really using the cohort of children most impacted by pandemic era prolonged school closures and their performance on math as justification for their removal of compacted math? By their own slides and data, it appears they are. This is slide 7 go.boarddocs.com/mabe/mcpsmd/Bo…
