But the real tragedy began long before that with a collapsed healthcare system, poor leadership, and politicians who abandon the people after elections. While many blame Dr. Agyekum, the deeper shame is that Ghanaians have normalised suffering so much that citizens now act as emergency governments for one another. Today it’s Cynthia. Tomorrow it could be your mother, sister, or child. A nation doesn’t develop through fancy buildings or slogans. It develops when its people can fall sick without becoming social media charity cases. Ghana deserves better. Our people deserve dignity not survival by sympathy.
