Poilievre wants to cancel the high speed Toronto to Quebec City rail.
We should suggest (on his dime) he spend some time in Europe where rail takes you everywhere and public transit is taken by the wealthy because it's faster, cleaner, greener and cheaper.
Tory governments are the reason we're decades behind the world.

Depuis des décennies, les Canadiens réclament un réseau ferroviaire interurbain moderne et rapide. Alto est un investissement générationnel qui transformera les déplacements et rapprochera les communautés. Il augmentera le PIB de 35 milliards de dollars par année, créera plus de 51 000 emplois bien rémunérés et aidera les Canadiens à travailler, étudier et voyager plus efficacement.
Pierre Poilievre tourne le dos aux Canadiens, de Québec à Toronto, et aux communautés entre les deux. Investir dans le train à grande vitesse, c’est bâtir un Canada plus connecté et plus compétitif, et démontrer que le pays est capable de réaliser de grands projets.
Les conservateurs, comme à leur habitude, manquent d’ambition. Se détourner des investissements qui contribuent à bâtir notre nation est un mauvais choix que les Canadiens rejettent à un moment où nous devons construire et croître.

Says a lot about the CPC that their MPs think infrastructure that Korea, Germany, France, the UK, the US, Turkey, Japan, China, etc. etc. have all managed to to deliver is as likely as "flying cars".
Of course their plan is just to cancel, not to actually build something.

@amerikkkanboy @ksm_wilson And most of Canada doesn't HAVE train service, little own inter city trains. How about we work on that? Say a train between Calgary, Edmonton and Regina, Halifax to Moncton? How about a train on Vancouver Island? Or even any train to Yellowknife or Whitehorse?

@MoeCoast @ksm_wilson this is the opposite of a vanity project. you realize countries like morocco, uzbekistan and indonesia have highspeed rail, and we don't? only country in the G7 without highspeed, electric trains. it's an embarrassment. the americans operate trains that were built in canada!

Are you kidding me? Canada’s infrastructure is desperately in need of renewal and high speed rail along the Windsor-Québec City corridor is a no brainer. Us Tories have historically been the party of a national vision! This is provincial thinking. We need to get our fiscal house in order; we can do that while also investing in our country.

@MoeCoast The two are not mutually exclusive, of course. If I had my druthers, M. Poilievre would've proposed a more ambitious plan than the government's that included Alto as well as rail expansion elsewhere in the country. Still, the "one region" is the most populous in Canada...
