In 2025, 🇳🇬 became Africa’s 2nd‑largest solar mkt, growing by >140%. @UN_Nigeria is proud to be part of this & I'm honoured to be joined by Minister @BalarabeAbbas @FMEnvng to SWITCH ON @UN House Solar installation-Phase 1. Clean energy is sustainable, smart & financially sound.

So glad to share insights with colleagues in the @UN_Nigeria Communication Group at their annual retreat. Communicating as One-@UN is key to engaging partners & the public. We discussed new tech, digital media, info integrity, inclusive messaging & stronger external comms.

On this #ZeroDiscriminationDay, I call on govts, institutions, & communities to put #peopleFirst, & protect the rights and dignity of all. According to @UNAIDS, nearly 1 in 4 people living with HIV report stigma @UN_Nigeria stands with people living with & affected by #HIV.

Insightful discussion with @inecnigeria Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan on strengthening election results mgt system, tackling challenges of public trust, voter edu, & threat of mis_disinformation. @UN_Nigeria supports free, fair, & credible elections in advancing democracy in 🇳🇬.

About 60% of #IDPs in 🇳🇬 live in host communities, not camps. Despite limited resources, host communities demonstrate true expression of humanity & solidarity. All segments of the society are encouraged to invest in IDPs & displaced communities for #DurableSolutions.

Together with colleagues, I met with Hon Minister @FmstNg, Dr. @KingsleyUdehSAN. We discussed aligning the Ministry's #STI priorities with @UN_Nigeria's; deepening partnership; advancing the #SDGs & the #PactForTheFuture; and ensuring that new tech. & #AI are for public good.

The season of #Ramadan & #Lent is a sacred period of reflections & prayers; a reminder of the importance of tolerance. I urge all Nigerians to show compassion, promote peace & unity. May this season bridge divides, bring hope to the vulnerable & ensure no one is left behind.

Today marks a bold step for Nigeria’s future: The launch of the #Nigeria Industrial Policy which sets the path for jobs, innovation, and sustainable growth. The @UN stands firmly with @NigeriaGov to turn this vision into reality, leaving no one behind. #SDGs #SDG9

Strong leadership at sub-nat'l level is a sure pathway to ensuring #DurableSolutions for 🇳🇬 IDPs. Great to see @KatsinaStateNg & @Zamfarastate launch #IDPs Policy/ Action Plan. IDPs are farmers ready to plant, young pple ready to innovate & women rebuilding families & economies.

Had a well-focused interview with @ARISEtv on why private sector investment in #DurableSolutions is vital for getting #IDPs back on their feet. 🇳🇬 IDPs seek sustainable livelihoods, not handouts. Investing in durable solutions delivers high returns: a win-win for #SDGs.

Honoured to lead the @UN_Nigeria delegation to meet with #Lagos State Governor H.E @jidesanwoolu & team. Had insightful discussions on strengthening our partnership with @followlasg to accelerate #SDGs & address humanitarian issues for the wellbeing of people & their communities.

At the private sector conference on market‑based solutions for #IDPs, I stressed that investing in displaced communities isn’t charity. It’s smart economics, it unlocks talent, stability & #peace. @UN_Nigeria believes 🇳🇬 can lead a model where business drives durable solutions.
