11/ Rushing to conclusions and amplifying unverified claims is the opposite of justice. It puts victims and communities at greater risk. In one example, a media agency quoted a telegram channel that was spreading violence saying it is an official channel. The UN report after careful digging showed that telegram channel was an imposter account.

🚨To every @UN agency operating in Syria: If you don’t act now, you are not just failing in your mandate, you are aiding the collapse of civilian life in Suwayda. Where are you @UNICEF @WHO @UNOCHA @mohammed_mudawi ?

You are directly responsible for the clashes in Syria right now! You are responsible for the masscre of the Druze people! You encouraged those jihadists before our eyes! If you have the slightest dignity, you will retract your words, resign and leave the Middle East! YOU ARE NOT FIT FOR YOUR ROLE! You need to be held accountable along with the jihadists you support! Your history speaks volumes about the kind of person you are!

Non-HTS government members are visiting the victims of the church bombing in Damascus, mourning those who passed away. HTS members, including the President, are not (at least not mourning). There may be religious explanations for that, but the fact that at a moment as dramatic as when death occurs, the Syrian president differentiates between his citizens, depending on their religious affiliation, will be troubling for many. Unlikely that this goes without a political cost, however small the Christian community is in Syria.

From a Bond villain lair in the rugged heights overlooking Damascus, the all-seeing eye of a notorious Syrian military unit gazed down on a city it bled dry. u.afp.com/S3qV After over two months of work, I hope my latest @AFP piece provides a comprehensive insight into the economic empire of Maher al-Assad's Fourth Division. How the man many called "The Master" and his cronies wallowed in immense wealth while some of their foot soldiers struggled to feed their families and even begged on the streets. The report wouldn't have happened without the long hours spent roaming around Damascus and other areas, stopping at abandoned 4th Division bases and checkpoints with @BakrAlkasem, the long conversations brainstorming with @LayalAFP, @alicehackman and my editor @FiachraGibbons Most documents were seen scattered among piles of broken furniture or left damp and dirty in looted bases.

@clarissaward As a former prisoner in Assad's prisons myself, I'm beyond disgusted with your reporting. You staged this story completely. The story is very weak to start with! How in God's name you found a prisoner two days after all prisoners have been released!! #Apologize

CNN's video mirrors fake news that detainees are still trapped in secret prisons. Giving false hope to families is irresponsible & there is no proof that anyone was overlooked I have no doubt this man was detained, but we should be suspicious of CNN's sensationalist reporting

Did @cnnipr and @clarissaward find a detainee who was somehow 'forgotten' after the prison was liberated in #Damascus #Syria? If CNN or the guards staged this encounter, they are exploiting the suffering of former detainees merely for more views x.com/cnnipr/status/…

"Syria is free." Extraordinary moment as @clarissaward and her team witness a Syrian prisoner freed from a secret prison in Damascus. Left alone for days without food, water or light, the man was unaware Bashar al-Assad's regime had fallen.

It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them. While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right.

The McDonald’s Trump “worked” at has been getting so many fake reviews on Yelp, Yelp has stopped new comments from being added. Here are a few: “Customer service was a joke. Senile old man got bronzer on my fries, didn’t wear gloves. Repeated himself several times, something about Ronald McDonald in the showers at the golf club? IdThe person who was at the drive through vaguely resembled someone who I saw on the news for being a convicted felon.” “Free lies with every shake. You just don’t want to see who’s shaking. I asked for an Arnold Palmer. Old man told me I couldn’t handle it.” “The fries were too salty as if someone who lost a major election had been crying over them for an hour.” “The person who was at the drive through vaguely resembled someone who I saw on the news for being a convicted felon.”

19 years ago, I was held at #Adra #Prison #Damascus twice, once in 2005 for a month & for around 6 months in 2006. This person was the Prison Director. I engaged with him twice in person and other times with a group of prisoners, especially during my second imprisonment in 2006.

Keeping my memories with me from Syria to Lebanon, later to the US, was more of a personal thing, but having it used in justice proceedings 19 years later in the US is something I never expected.
