In an act of self defence Iran attacked the U.S. military bases across the Persian Gulf countries and Israel. The Government of India called every belligerent nation condemning Iran’s act of self-defence against the U.S. -Israeli aggression, but not the U.S.-Israeli aggression itself. India failed to yet condemn the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khameini nor did their high officials sign the condolence registry in the Iran Embassy in New Delhi. A U.S. submarine sank the Iranian frigate IRIS Dena with torpedoes off the southern coast of Sri Lanka on March 4, 2026, marking a significant escalation in regional conflict. The vessel was returning from naval drills in India when it was attacked in international waters, resulting in at least 87 reported deaths, while 32 sailors survived. It is alleged that the Indian military disclosed crucial intelligence with the U.S. Navy and failed to protect the frigate. A Sri Lankan navy patrol rescued the surviving sailors. India didn’t condemn the American attack on IRIS Dena & the killing of unarmed sailors. Like never before, Indian foreign policy is now openly aligned with the U.S. and Israeli interests. Note that India and Iran are both members of BRICS with India holding the current presidency of the Forum. Still India failed to condemn the U.S.-Israeli aggression against Iran. I am left confused!
