News release says Ontario Police College currently runs 3 cohorts per year of 480 officers through this $15,450 course, so my math says that’s $22 million/yr in free tuition. News release also says in 2024 it will expand to 4 cohorts/yr of 550 officers each, so that’s $34 M/yr.

Just realized I’m still passionate about #InternationalDevelopment and #ConflictStudies, just super discouraged about my studies now that school is almost 100% in-person with mandatory attendance again…

The reason I find academia so hard, is I am wired for a kind of love that this place cannot sustain. I think of ways to cite colleagues, to lift them up, to support them. All the time. It is not reciprocal with so many others. I find it painful. I'm not sure how long I can last.
