Please retweet to help Roxy find a home within 1 hour of #LIVERPOOL #UK Saved from a council pound!
A SPECIAL FOREVER HOME NEEDED 💔💔💔
Breed; Akita Age; 6 Years; Female, totally blind
Background; She came to us from the local pound.
Personality; Roxy is an extremely friendly girl, who loves her cuddles. She copes well with being blind. She LOVES her food, so needs to make sure that she doesn't have access to help herself to any food or treats.
Left alone; We think she will be ok to left alone for up to 6 hours.
House training; She is a very clean girl.
Travelling; Travels well.
🏃 Exercise; Roxy is very active, so would love going on regular walks.
Adopter requirements: Anyone with Akita or large breed experience would be ideal. You don't necessarily need prior experience of blind dogs, but have lots of kindness and empathy to care for Roxy correctly. Keeping your home layout the same is a great way to help her settle in.
Home/garden needs; A private, secure garden.
Minimum age of children; 14 years +.
Dog/Cat suitability: We think she would be best as on only pet, but could possibly live with an older, calm, neutered male dog. Is it unknown how she is with cats.
Medical issues; Roxy is completely blind due to uveodermatological disease, and has had her eyes surgically removed (to stop them causing her any future pain). The uveodermatological disease will not be able to be covered by pet insurance, so any potential adopters need to be aware of this, and she is likely to need a small dose of steroids to maintain the condition of her skin.
All our dogs are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, parasite treated and come with 5 weeks free insurance.
If you live within an hour of L31, please complete an adoption application form to enquire with AS MUCH INFO as possible;
rescueme.org.uk/adoptadog
Telephone interview, home visit, meet and greet(s) and adoption fee also apply.

Day off # 3
A tad fed up today ,
Husband has been bed ridden for the best part of six days ..
Car passed its MOT this afternoon..
But cost me £601 …
So decided to be decadent and disgusting for my dinner tonight as husband is having soup in bed ..
So a large glass of wine and a family pack of crisps is my culinary delight for tonight …
And The Yorkshire Auction House on the gogglebox with @angusashworth ..
I think I’ve got a wee bit of a crush on him 😊

On #InternationalWomensDay I wanted to once again pay tribute to Tirzah Garwood, Eric Ravilious’ wife. They met when she was a student at Eastbourne College, married Eric in 1930 & a dozen years later was a war widow. Her work continued, and she deserves to be much better known.

Back in early February we were asked for help to find the beautiful Coco a new home.
His beloved owner sadly couldn't look after him anymore due to ill health.
Our team added Coco to our website and started a search to find a home.
At 9 years young, it's sometimes hard to find older dogs new homes as people often want younger dogs or puppies. But we always try our best for the oldies, sometimes they have more life in them than a pup with their dashing around, followed by a quick snooze to repeat later.
We had an enquiry from a lady called Anita, she emailed and explained that her mum sadly lost her husband 6 months ago and was at a bit of a loss, requiring some companionship, especially during the long cold winter evenings.
Anita said that Coco sounded absolutely ideal for her mum. So we arranged a home check and to go and meet Anita's mum.
Our volunteer arrived on the afternoon of the 14th February (Valentines day) to a bright, but chilly Burntisland.
Anita's mum Mrs Willis invited us in with a smile and a warm welcome. A truly lovely lady with a kind nature.
Mrs Willis took the time to show us some beautiful photos of her beloved husband who served his time in the Royal Navy, a very dashing and handsome gentleman who also had a big love of dogs.
A home check was successfully completed by our team and all details where then passed onto Coco's previous owner for them to decide if this was the right home for him - they decided that it was, and Coco was rehomed.
We received a lovely update today from Anita to say that Coco has settled in really well with her mum.
Anita said ''The two of them are really enjoying each others company''.
With photos attached, it's clear to see that Coco has brought some happiness and love into Mrs Willis life.
Happy new home Coco. We wish you both many years of happiness and adventures together.

He has not found a friend, he had found a mother. He’s showing her his inanimate mother and the female monkey is being polite, but knows it’s not a real monkey. It’s like he knows that he doesn’t need the other mother anymore
