I was among the many talented professionals laid off by @voxmedia today. While I'm disappointed, I know I'll be ok because this is not my first rodeo. (It's my third, actually.) I've been preparing to get laid off ever since I took this job.

This week, 30 members of our bargaining unit were laid off. MSNBC’s President Rashida Jones sent an email later that day saying she was “pleased to share” the scheduling changes that resulted in these layoffs without acknowledging the lives of our laid off members.

Yesterday, @NBCNews management abruptly and illegally laid off several union journalists. This is a clear violation of the law and we have filed an Unfair Labor Practice charge against the company. We will fight until we win a fair contract that protects everyone in our newsroom.
