We are extremely concerned that management appears to have selectively laid off workers in violation of the contract. After meeting with @NBCNews representatives last week, we were left with more questions than answers.

NBC News laid off over 30 of our members this month, using the excuse of the @VersantMedia spinoff to continue prioritizing extreme corporate profits over the workers that create the value behind @NBCNews and @TODAYshow.

After more than half a decade, we have our contract ratified. Thank you to everyone involved especially @tatejamesdotcom @DohaMadani @CarlinMcCarthy @AndrewJStern and the OG @RebeccaDavis who first told me about the idea of a union in 2018. In the words of Elle Woods, WE DID IT.

After an overwhelming 94% ratification vote, we have secured the first union contract for the digital newsrooms of @NBCNews, @NBCNewsNOW, and @TODAYshow. We are proud of the work that we do, and we're excited to continue that work with the protections of a strong first contract.
