Watch | Jordanian aircraft carried out airstrikes on targets in the Sweida region of southern #Syria, Syrian media reported. In an official statement, the Jordanian army said the operation was a preemptive strike targeting weapons depots and drug manufacturing facilities in the area. Amman said the strikes come as part of ongoing efforts to counter what it described as cross-border smuggling networks and address security threats along its northern frontier.

I know the league is irrelevant for Palace, but I don't think I've ever seen this many dangerous ball losses outside the Polish 5th division.

@jaacknffc 💯 the elites are all the same. Protect property and land values first. Never tax land owners. Always looking to tax hard working people to pay for the “fixes”.

Rumours suggest Angela Rayner could take over from Rachel Reeves as Chancellor. She left Avondale High School in Stockport at 16, pregnant and with no qualifications. She later studied part-time at Stockport College, where she learned British Sign Language and gained an NVQ Level 2 in social care. She never went to university. She has no financial services experience.

US troops are not in Germany to protect Germany. They’re there because the US needs bases to conduct operations beyond the North American continent. If Trump withdraws them, he will harm the United States, not Germany. It’s absurd how many Americans fail to grasp this.

@WarMonitor3 Growth occurs via increase population, improved technology, and use/access to resources. UK birth rates are low - hence need for migrants, taxes are high - hence low tech growth, and UK has used up its resources and are not willing to use oil/nuclear resources.

Bayern, PSG and Atletico rotated the whole team but Arsenal has to play their full team. Trebles in England are worth 3 Spanish Trebles or 5 Bundesliga/Ligue 1 Trebles.

@Maks_NAFO_FELLA The value of winning a war is taking the land. What’s the point if it’s a nuclear wasteland 🤣 If the wind changes direction you’ve radiated your own citizens 🤣 And now you’re a global pariah 🤣 Also risk NATO intervening 🤣

☢️ Putin may be preparing a nuclear strike on Ukraine, so the country is increasing its readiness for Putin to use weapons of mass destruction, - People's Deputy Kostenko He believes that Russia can strike with tactical nuclear weapons with a capacity of several to dozens of kilotons. The targets may be military bases, troop concentrations, infrastructure, decision-making centers, and large cities.

My question in regards to the Green Party pledge to raise the minimum wage to £15 is why stop at £15? If it holds true that all we need to do to improve living standards is just increase the minimum wage then why not make it £20, £30 or £40. Whats the economics behind £15?

@joni_askola Nope, you're wrong, he just shifting America's priorities to a more profitable area. Europe no longer has any sway. The EU is dependent on 97% oil imports. That makes Europe weak and an unlikely partner for American expansion and influence.

And you shouldn’t be in business if you can’t pay your staff a proper living wage
Peter McCormack 🏴‍☠️🇬🇧🇮🇪@PeterMcCormack

A minimum wage of £15 would end my coffee shop, it would have to close, as would many other businesses. I’ll explain for the economically illiterate. Staff costs are currently half our costs, a £15 minimum wage is actually more than £15 an hour for the company, because you have to add: - 12.07% holiday - Sick pay - Maternity pay if and when required - National insurance - Pension contributions These costs would mean the shop loses money because remember, energy costs are up, rates are up, regulations are up. Now you can pass these costs onto the consumer - that would mean charging a lot more for coffee, people won’t pay it. The likes of Starbucks and Costa can, because they have economies of scale. The independent doesn’t. Now the little socialist will say well this is your fault, if you can’t run a business that can afford to pay its staff properly, but the little socialist has never run a business and does not understand the dynamics. Now I could pay some staff off and fill those hours myself or reduce us to one staff member during certain periods - but this proves the point that a minimum wage costs jobs. There was a time when these jobs were done by kids, perhaps on the weekend, paid a lower wage, no holiday and no silly employment rights. Perhaps they were even paid cash. The dynamic worked and small businesses like this could operate. It was also a great first job. Sadly now it isn’t worth employing entitlement youngsters at this level of pay. So alas, I don’t need the stress, the business would close, a number of jobs would be lost. Economics is about understanding these dynamics, no vibes. The cost of living is not solved through passing on inflation to the business, it is solved by ending high inflation and creating prosperity. This is what socialists don’t understand, they can’t create prosperity, they can only destroy it.
