Labour’s rewriting of history is quite something.
The main problem was NOT that Labour was “too slow to call for a ceasefire” as Andy Burnham & Yvette Cooper now say it is.
The problem was Starmer, a human rights lawyer, saying Israel cutting off water and electricity was acceptable - and taking 9 days to correct the record.
Ongoing UK intelligence, military & trade co-operation during a genocide
Ministers refusing to listen to surgeons trying to advocate for killed/maimed children
Backing Trump & Netanyahu without question for almost two years.
The list goes on and on and on….

The International Court of Justice, the world’s highest court, ruled back in 2004 – nearly a quarter of a century ago – that Israel’s Jewish settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem violated international law and needed to be dismantled.
It reiterated that demand in a decision two years ago in which it identified Israel as an apartheid state ruling over Palestinians. It warned states to “take steps to prevent trade or investment relations that assists in the maintenance of the illegal situation created by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territory”.
And yet the West has done nothing tangible year after year as the settlements have stolen more land from Palestinians, made their lives there ever more miserable, and trashed any chance of the West’s supposed ambition of two states living alongside each other.
Remember this when Israel’s apologists tell you to wait for the same court’s definitive ruling – in a year or two, or maybe three – on what it deemed in early 2024 to be a “plausible” genocide in Gaza, just three months into Israel’s mass slaughter there.
Not only will any such ruling be far too late to make any difference to the victims of the genocide, but the US, Britain and Europe will do precisely no more to punish Israel for this crime of crimes – one we can see for ourselves without an ICJ ruling – than they have done in punishing Israel for the settlements.
Why? Because most western states no more wish to impose a penalty on Israel for its crimes than you would want to amputate a healthy arm.
If they refuse to lift a finger to stop a live-streamed genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, why on earth would anyone imagine they are ready to do anything to stop Israel’s violent settlers ethnically cleansing the West Bank?
The settlements are as deeply integrated into Israel as your arm is attached to your shoulder. And in turn, Israel is as much the punching fist of the imperial West’s war machine as the City of London – and its former tax-haven colonies – are the beating heart of the imperial West’s financial machine.
Western elites cannot imagine a world without Israel as their military thug in the oil-rich Middle East any more than you can imagine life without your arm.
That explains why no one really believed that EU foreign ministers, meeting once again this week to discuss banning settlement products – the bare minimum they have long been obligated to do under international law – would reach an agreement.
More than 100 legal scholars had earlier written to the European Commission’s top trade and foreign policy officials stressing the EU’s “international legal obligation”.
But as everyone predicted, EU ministers kicked the can down the road – until at least October, when they agreed to more talks about talks.
This is an extract from my latest article The West won't punish the settlements. Its two-state solution was always a sham. Find a link to the rest in the reply post ⬇️

For those not quite sure about Sacha Baron Cohen or his racist 'comedy' characters including 'Ali G' (A Jew pretending to be a Muslim pretending to be black), have a little look at his pedigree.
He is a graduate of the Habonim Dror School of racist comedy. A Zionist grooming and radicalisation vehicle for young Jews.
Here's the article I wrote about it [link in replies]:
The Habonim Dror School of Racist Comedy
Source: Al Mayadeen English 31 Aug 2022.
In their attempts to groom and radicalize Jewish children and young people, into ideological partisans of the ideology of Zionism, the Zionist movement seems to have fostered an identifiable strand of racist comedy. Zionist youth groups such as Habonim Dror are key to this according to the testimony of former members.
The Zionist movement makes a very significant investment in the indoctrination of Jewish children and young people. In the UK, the largest group fundraising for the ethnic cleansing of Palestine is the United Jewish Israel Appeal (UJIA).
It invests in a wide range of organizations for young people, all dedicated to fostering the racist ideology of Zionism. But it also schools and coaches young Jews in wider racist ideas and ideologies. How does this work out when they grow up?
Take the example of a school in North London, the Haberdashers’ Aske’s School – now known more simply as Haberdashers’ after dropping the name ‘Aske’s’. This was because the Merchant, Robert Aske, was an investor in the Royal African Company which had a monopoly on the British slave trade. As with most areas of public life in the UK children who attend private schools are significantly over-represented in elite professions including in the entertainment industry. As it happens, significant numbers of nationally and internationally known entertainers attended the school including :
Matt Lucas and Ashley Blaker who were behind the popular comedy show Little Britain.
Robert Popper, who among his other activities was Commissioning editor at Channel Four where he commissioned Bo’Selecta and produced two series of the comedy Peep Show.
David Baddiel, the stand-up comedian, and co-host of Fantasy Football League.
Perhaps best known is Sacha Baron-Cohen who made his name presenting himself as a young Muslim (Ali G), pretending to be black, and then played a series of other Muslim comedy characters including Borat in the internationally known film of the same name.
Work produced by all five has been criticized or removed from streaming services for racism.
However, many of those involved in the British comedy world (such as Baddiel, his brother Ivor, Popper, Baron-Cohen, the producer of Whose Line is it Anyway/Mock the Week, Dan Patterson, and his colleague in both shows, Mark Leveson) also credit a little known Zionist youth group - Habonim Dror - as playing a role in their success. The Jewish Chronicle reported that Lucas was a Habonim alumnus. He subsequently clarified the was a member of RSY-Netzer, which was, however, also signed up to the racist ideology of Zionism, through formal membership of the Zionist Federation and thus the World Zionist Organisation.

"I was astonished frankly at the relentless ways in which The Spectator appears to pursue a grudge against two billion people around the world who happen to be of the Muslim faith."
Senior mainstream media journalists slam The Spectator Magazine for Islamophobia.
A new report today by the @cfmmuk accused the influential magazine of an eight year campaign to demonise Muslims.

I have seen firsthand the anxiety in our Jewish communities and the very real threat they face. Their safety will be a priority for me - we must do more to stamp out the scourge of antisemitism and protect Jewish communities across the country. This funding boost is a welcome and necessary step towards that. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

The Demonization of Israel
I believe Israel is the most demonized country in the world.
That is a strong statement, and I do not expect you to accept it without question. I invite you to examine the evidence, challenge my conclusions, and decide for yourself.
Israel is a country about the size of New Jersey. Jews make up approximately 0.2 percent of the world’s population, a little over 15 million people in a world of about 8.5 billion. Yet despite representing such a small fraction of humanity, Israel and the Jewish people are often portrayed by some as being responsible for an astonishing number of the world’s problems.
Throughout history, Jews have been accused of controlling governments, financial institutions, the media, wars, revolutions, and countless other events. While the language has changed over time, the pattern has often reappeared in different forms. That alone should encourage thoughtful people to ask important questions.
Where is the evidence?
Are the same standards being applied to every nation?
Would I accept this claim if it were made about any other people?
We live in an age where information travels faster than careful analysis. A thirty second video or a viral post can shape opinions before anyone takes the time to verify the facts. Too many people allow social media to replace genuine research.
Do not let an algorithm decide what you believe.
Read.
Study history.
Compare multiple credible sources.
Question your own assumptions.
Think before you share.
Think before you judge.
Critical thinking requires effort, curiosity, and intellectual honesty. It is the only way to get closer to the truth.
This article is not asking you to agree with every decision Israel has ever made. No country is beyond criticism. Every democracy deserves scrutiny. What I am asking is whether Israel is often judged by standards that are not applied to other nations. I believe the answer is yes.
If you disagree, I welcome the conversation.
Present your evidence.
Cite your sources.
Explain your reasoning.
I will do the same.
I am not interested in trading slogans, personal attacks, or emotional talking points. I am interested in facts, evidence, logic, and honest debate.
We may not reach the same conclusion, but if we are willing to challenge our assumptions and follow the evidence wherever it leads, then the conversation is worth having.
Truth does not fear questions.
Neither should we.
