Calling out Ebionites shows debates, not a finished Trinity. The problem with your argument is this: Calling something a “perversion” only shows there were competing views early on. It does not prove that the later full Trinity doctrine (one God in three co-equal, co-eternal persons of the exact same substance) was already the original or settled teaching. These very fathers you are pointing to (Justin Martyr , Irenaeus , Tertullian , Origen , etc.) did not teach the later Nicene version of the Trinity. What they actually taught was a form of subordinationism: The Father is the ultimate, underived God and source. The Son is divine and from the Father, but ranks second begotten, derived, or subordinate in authority/order. Justin explicitly put the Son “in the second place.” Origen ranked the Father above the Son and the Son above the Spirit in certain ways. Tertullian (who first used the word “Trinity”) still described the Father as greater and the Son as a “portion” or derivation of the whole. This is not the same as the later formula of three co-equal persons sharing one identical divine essence with no ranking in being. That full co-equal version was hammered out later: First Council of Nicaea (325 AD) introduced “homoousios” (same substance) mainly against Arius, who said the Son was created. The Holy Spirit’s full place was clarified even later at Constantinople (381 AD). This happened under imperial involvement after Christianity became legal (313 AD onward). So the early fathers were defending a high view of Jesus against those groups (who saw him as only a human prophet). But their own high view still had a clear ranking of Father over Son. The complete “co-equal Trinity” that most churches teach today took more centuries of debate, councils, and political pressure to settle. Early high Christology is not equal to later Nicene dogma.

Islam is literally just one guy claiming to agree with the prophets, unknowingly contradicting them, and then leaving his followers to cope for his blunders.
