when people used to throw out accusations of “max extraction,” i used to agree founders OTCing early while dumping on retail and their own employees? Celeb coin rugpulls? chart manipulation to pump valuations for foundation treasury sales? all extractive but now it’s gotten to the point where people throw out “extractorrrr” accusations willy nilly getting better terms than VCs as a retail investor? extraction any sort of lock up on tokens? extraction airdrops more competitive and targeted? extraction healthy skepticism is a good thing. it helps you protect your stack and grow wealth. but flat out nihilism will make you miss out on so many opportunities the best farmers and opportunists from a few years ago seem to have retired by now. this new cohort struggles to distinguish opportunities from actual grifts. and at some point the focus has shifted from playing the risk reward tradeoff game to expecting high financial upside for very little risk i think the real question everyone (both builders and opportunists) should be asking is “are you in the top 5% of whatever you do?” if the answer is no, might be time to sharpen your skills and outcompete instead of finger pointing
