Happy to have been invited by Prof. Junwei Liu to give a talk at Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) @hzau_1898 in Wuhan 🇨🇳. I presented my research on the regulation of anthocyanin biosynthesis in tomato 🍅 in response to light ☀️ and temperature 🌡️.

@ATinyGreenCell @BigPurpleTomato It can happen when roots are exposed to light but it is not very common in wild type tomato, definitely more common in anthocyanin enriched mutants. It could be something in the media (sucrose ?) or the E8 promoter is not so fruit specific after all.

Interesting to note that the @BigPurpleTomato plant also makes anthocyanins in da roots. Not sure if this is in all tomato when roots see light but either way a cool trait.
