أكبر المشكلات التي تواجه بعض الكُتاب هو شح ثقافتهم الجغرافية واستقاء المعلومات من مصدر لا يعتمد الحقيقة كثر ما يطرح من محتوى يبرر فيه صحة أجندات مشغليه وهذا ما وقع فيه حسين الذي لا علم له بجغرافية عمان واليمن ولا مناطق السيطرة ولا تراكمية الاحداث وأدوار الوساطة العمانية فيها.

عام 2018 استقبل سلطان عمان نتنياهو وزوجته ورئيس الموساد في أعلى زيارة سياسية لمسؤولين اسرائيليين الى دولة عربية. في نفس الوقت كان المسؤولون الايرانيون يروجون لاهمية دخول الحرس الثوري للمنطقة لاحداث توازن سياسي؟ فكيف تفكر عمان؟ ولماذا تبدو اليوم اول الخاسرين بعد إيران؟ تصريحات وزير خارجية سلطنة عُمان التي قال فيها إن ضرب إيران لأراضي الدول الخليجية كان الخيار العقلاني لإيران، لا تكشف جديدًا. انها تصريحات ايرانية لكن بلسان عماني. عُمان هي أبرز الخاسرين من انهيار منظومة القوة الإيرانية، لأنها رمت بأغلب أوراقها في سلة الملالي. لكن هناك كذبة تروّجها عُمان، وهي كذبة “الحياد البنّاء”. فعُمان لم تكن أبدًا محايدة في الصراع. في الملف الايراني، ساهمت عُمان في تهريب الأسلحة للحوثي ودعم الميليشيا دبلوماسيًا وإعلاميًا. تتشاطر قطر مع عُمان الإيمان بأهمية وجود القوة الإيرانية لحمايتها من “هيمنة” سعودية، كانت مثار تخوف تاريخي في السياسة العُمانية. لكن في حين نوّعت قطر أوراق لعبها (إيران، تركيا، الإسلاميون والجهاديون، الحوثيون)، وضعت عُمان البيض كله في سلة الملالي. ومن خلال القوة العسكرية الإيرانية، تريد الحد من مغامرات سعودية قد تهدد أراضيها. ومن خلال مزج الإباضية مع فتح المجال العُماني للحسينيات والأيديولوجيا الشيعية، أرادت حماية نفسها من تصدير الوهابية. والجانب الذي سيشكّل الخسارة الأكبر هو استثماراتها الضخمة مع إيران، التي ستتراجع سواء بقي النظام أو تعدّل أو سقط. تشترك عُمان مع قطر في سياسة أخرى، هي تقديم نفسها كوسيط للمفاوضات والمشاورات بين القوى الإقليمية. عام 2018، استقبل السلطان قابوس نتنياهو وزوجته في مسقط، في زيارة تُعتبر الأعلى من ناحية التمثيل لمسؤول إسرائيلي في تاريخ علاقة العرب مع إسرائيل. “خدمات الوساطة والدبلوماسية” هي الأسلوب الذي حاولت فيه عُمان أن تأمن شر جارها العنيف وأن تستفيد من قوته. لكنها، مع مزيج المصالح الاقتصادية والتعاون التاريخي والمخاوف المشتركة، تحوّلت إلى شراكة مصيرية في معركة واحدة. تنظر عُمان إلى حدودها مع السعودية والإمارات، التي لا يفصل بينها شيء، وإلى حدودها مع إيران التي يفصلها الخليج العربي، فتتمنى لو كانت حدودها مع إيران أقرب. وتشاهد صواريخ إيران تقصف أراضيها وأراضي جيرانها، فترى مصلحتها في انتصار إيران.

@NatashaTurak I don’t know how. The USS Ford is out of commission. The USS Lincoln hasn’t been seen or heard from in weeks. And god knows how he will get those marine assets through the Straight without getting torpedoed. It’s really comedy.

@MonicaLMarks Oman doesn’t soft pedal. It speaks plainly and clearly. Choosing every word carefully as to not be misinterpreted. They didn’t choose a position. They have maintained the same foreign policy since the 1970s.

Oman and the UAE had positioned themselves at opposite ends of the GCC spectrum in terms of assigning culpability for this war by Week 3.
Oman has opted to soft-pedal Iran’s culpability.
The UAE has opted to soft-pedal the US & Israel’s.

Whatever your view of Iran, this war is not of their making. This is already causing widespread economic problems and I fear they promise to get much worse if the war continues. Oman is working intensively to put in place safe passage arrangements for the Strait of Hormuz.

@propandco Agree… never been to Iran, but I went to an amazing Iranian restaurant in Doha called parisa. I’m not even into meat, but I ate a crazy amount that day… Still don’t know what their secret is.

Maze Oman is part of the GCC with a clear distinct policy from the rest. Instead of saying GCC maybe call out those places by name. I hesitate to call some of them countries because they didn’t exist prior to WWII. And maybe that’s the point. To have such poor foreign policy that your domestic policy is affected creating a popular uprising destabilize each one. Cracks are already visible in some societies with outliers popping up here and there. There is clear animosity toward some GCC countries but coming from those that believe in Gamal Abdul Nasser style Arab nationalism, the opinions are hard to take seriously, as Arab nationalism is a joke and a failure. And anyone invoking opinion from this angle doesn’t realize that all Arabs are different. Different tribes, cultures, Islamic beliefs. Everything is different. You cannot unite people with multiple identities unless you have a singular nation rooted in history and tradition to unite them under. And this doesn’t exist because they didn’t exist prior to 1932 with the exception of Oman and Yemen.

When is the GCC going to wake up and realize they are the Arabs that Israel hates. You are only useful right now.
Oh and America, just a heads up … Israel will need you out of the way when they want to expand into the territories you’ve created bases on. But who knows you might let them use those to achieve their goal.

Irans power infrastructure is completely decentralized like the #BTC blockchain.
Its total capacity is ~99 GW with its largest plant (Damavand) only supplying ~2.9% of the countries power and with over 470 facilities total it is far more distributed than Israel's.
Orot Rabin, in Israel, supplies ~20% of Israel‘s.
This threat seems way more costly for the Israelis than it does for the Iranis when it comes to power supply if Iran chooses to respond by destroying Israeli power plants.
