On Thursday Jul 23 at 10:30 am EDT, Monad block times are dropping from 400ms to 300ms, as per MIP-12. Accordingly, v0.15.1 is starting to roll out to validators, although if you run a validator see Jackson's note below for more details. More improvements every day.

WHAT IS JIT COMPILATION ON @monad ?
most chains read every contract like a stranger reading a map — one line at a time, out loud, checking each step before taking it. every single time. even for the route they've walked a thousand times.
monad doesn't.
it runs an interpreter like everyone else — but it also watches which contracts get used the most.
the busiest ones, it quietly compiles into native machine code and caches, so the next call skips the line-by-line reading entirely.
the popular paths get paved. the quiet ones keep running on foot until they're worth paving too.
and here's the discipline of it:
the paved road leads to the exact same place as the footpath. same gas, same errors, same result — down to the last detail.
faster, never different.
in rainforest terms:
the first monkes through the undergrowth move slowly, cutting every step, checking every root.
but the trail they use most gets walked, then worn, then paved into stone.
the paths nobody takes stay wild — no point paving a route no one walks.
so the jungle gets faster exactly where it's busiest, and the busy routes cost nothing extra to trust, because the stone goes exactly where the footpath went.
the trails remember. that's the whole trick. 🐒
