At the moment, we don't know how much prices will go up as a result of tariffs. There are a lot of conditionals. But if the goal is raise the cost of imports so that people are encouraged to buy American-made goods, I want to tell you a story. 🧵

@dieworkwear The tariffs won’t be on the completed shirt, only the yarn. Quick check of the prices you’re looking at around $1/shirt for the yarn. $4 for HQ. Assuming everything else was done in non-tariff areas you’re looking at $0.40-$1.60 increase in manufacturing costs.

I dislike how common Nazi types are here (and I think Elon should do something about them), but the old Twitter could ban you for being heretical on woke issues (trans, etc.).
I see some people I respect moving to Bluesky, but it seems likely to be too one-note lefty. Thoughts?

I know a lot of parents follow me on Twitter. Can I ask a question that is really honest and vulnerable?
I get the sense of being a parent forms an unshakable bond, and most parents would gladly die for their child.
So, why did my family disown me when I came out as trans?
Why are so many parents willing to go to extremes to deliver the best for their child. But mine couldn’t accept me following through on something I told them I was from childhood?
And we just that fundamentally unlovable and disturbing to you?

There are 11 million illegal immigrants in the USA. They are mostly working in agriculture, food services, etc. Low paid menial work that Americans aren’t eager to take.
