Who AML Is and Why This Matters for Defence Advanced Magnet Lab's PM-Wire™ platform is a proprietary process for scalable, traceable, high-performance permanent magnet manufacturing — designed specifically to address the U.S. industrial base's critical dependence on Chinese magnet supply. AML just received a US$2 million U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) contract for qualification of domestically produced sintered NdFeB permanent magnets for defence systems — with IXR named explicitly as the key supplier of (NdPr)₂O₃ and Dy₂O₃ under that contract. 🎯 The end use: military drone motors and other critical defence equipment By 2027, Chinese rare earth content must be completely removed from U.S. weapons systems under existing DFARS regulations. AML is building the domestic magnet qualification pathway. IXR is supplying the oxides. The DLA is funding the qualification. All three pieces are now in place.
