This 2020 NCAAT is one of the biggest what ifs in college basketball history.
What if SDSU and/or Dayton made the Final Four? How do we look at SDSU if it made it in 20 and 23?
Is this the Gonzaga team that cuts down the nets? Does FSU get Leonard Hamilton to a Final Four?
Does Maryland make a run, saving Mark Turgeon’s job? What about Louisville and Chris Mack? Butler and LaVall Jordan?
What would another title do for Bill Self’s legacy? Coach K gets another? Jay Wright wins three in five years?
Payton Pritchard and Myles Powell could’ve been real March superstars, too.
Would completely change the way we talk about many of these programs

@bhallier @Big_Tamale What good did the strong non con get them??? The dumbass committee sure didn’t value KU’s #2 SoS & the 3 top 5 wins & top 3 finish in the toughest Power 4 conference. They just valued wins & losses bc you can’t look @ Gonzaga & Virginia & thought they were more deserving of a 3

Too many people blaming Self, who does deserve some blame. Bottom line is too many players were awful today. White and Tiller were useless, Melvin had effort but 5 turnovers, Elmarko was Elmarko. Peterson, Rosario and Mbiya were the good ones today.

Outside of the one seeds, I think Purdue is the most likely team to win the national title.
The Boilermakers were the preseason favorite, but five home losses have lowered the hype on them.
Purdue's No. 1-rated offense, led by Braden Smith, is a force to be reckoned with and will keep them in the game against anyone.
The Boilers have the size, shooting, and depth to win it all.
Defense has been a question mark at times, but opponents have had unreal shooting luck, especially at Mackey Arena.
If Purdue can get past Arizona, I think they've got a real chance of winning it all. 🚂

If Kansas lands on the 4-line, the Sweet 16 probably means a matchup with a 1-seed. Duke is the region KU should want. They’re the weakest 1 and it’s actually a pretty solid matchup for Kansas.

Yesterday at Allen Fieldhouse, they announced that Kansas was celebrating their 37th consecutive 20-win season. If you don’t count their 15 vacated wins, their record in 2017-18 was “officially” 16-8.
Can we put the Final Four banner back up if we’re cool with it now?

3-seed in KC = ideal for the Jayhawks. You avoid 5-seed Iowa State in that 4/5 game. You avoid 1-seed Arizona until the Saturday. You're also a Houston loss from getting the 2-spot.

I’m not saying Arizona can’t win it all even if they do lose 2 more games this year, but this trend certainly would not be in their favor if they do drop 2 more.
We all saw it happen with Auburn last year.

Since the tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985: There have been no 1 or 2 seeds that have lost more than 3 games in February/March that have gone on to win it all. This is something to keep in mind for the following potential 1/2 seeds: -Arizona (schedule picks up significantly this month as well as the Big 12 tournament looming) -Illinois (already has 2 losses, must play Michigan, and compete in the B1G tournament) -Michigan (while this scenario is pretty unlikely, they easily have an extremely tough end to the season with 5 of their last 6 games coming against top 20 KenPom teams) -Nebraska (already has 2 losses, must play Iowa twice, and compete in the B1G tournament) -Iowa State (has to play 5 top 25 KenPom teams in there next 7 games along with the Big 12 tournament)
