War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner.

@HMBohemond I preferred the Grey Knights when they were all non-psykers. Thought it was a much cooler/unique way of explaining how they were essentially invisible to the Warp.
English

Grey Knight hate is as dumb as Ultramarines hate. It's predicated on two things:
1. A lore blurb so dumb it got retconned in later editions because it went against the lore of how Grey Knights work.
2. People not understanding that Caldor Draigo isn't overpowered. He beat Mortation by unleashing his True Name.
Once again people getting their lore through sixth party memes from Youtube shorts and Text to Speech Device need to get themselves educated instead of.

@HMBohemond The Grey knights were way worse then the ultramarines anyway and still are
English

@HMBohemond Not my favorite chapter but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the Ultramarines.
IMO the lore/writing/etc in general since ~8th has sharply gone down hill. Too much “Marvelfication.” But I’m a grumpy old man that thinks 3rd/4th ed was the zenith of the lore/setting so YMMV.

@Utahmus_Getamus @Grimedark I remember watching Conan the Barbarian with my dad around that age. Then he pulled out a box of his Lancer/Ace Conan paperbacks from the 70’s with the Frazetta covers. There was no going back after that. Miss you dad!
English

@Grimedark Terminator, Predator, Predator 2, Total Recall, Alien, The Road Warrior, First Blood, Robocop Puppet Master Series, Braveheart, Universal Soldier, Highlander, Body Bags, every thrasher Horror movie from the 80s, Die Hard, The Crow.. All watched by 6-8 year old Utah. 75% with Dad

Formative moment tbh

90’s dads were like “ yeah my six year old can handle terminator 2: judgment day “

220 tithed to the #CurlCrusade with the Big Homie™️ legion this morning. 28,120 remain.
Goddamn that’s a lot of beef.
Roll dice, go outside, paint minis, lift weights, become your heroes.
Your daily reminder that the chuds own #40k

English

200 down for the #CurlCrusade. Hope all the Big Homies™️ have a great weekend.
26,050 remain.

English

@Grimedark Hell yeah McDoubles. Spoils of war.
I ate a cheeseburger for breakfast every day this week.
English

180 heavies committed to the battle for the 28k sector. Preachers, spiders, and incline.
Only 28,340/40,000 remain on the #CurlCrusade
Took the Subaru-Pattern Land Raider out to secure McDoubles for the war effort.

@Grimedark Same. Crimson Fists are one of my favorite chapters BECAUSE of art like this, that other Dave Gallagher one with the medics, that piece by John Sibbick from the Rogue Trader days, etc. Iconic.
You have a great one as well Commissar.
English

@Montius13 This art FUCKS. One of my all time favorites. Have a good one Big Homie™️
English

200 more for Big E and the Big Homies™️ on the #CurlCrusade.
Weekend is fast approaching and I hope the bros out there dominate the shit out of it like it is some disgusting xenos race. #40K rules.
26,250 remain.

English

@TheHarryBalczak All that said, like what you like man. I’m glad the setting interests you. It’s a cool place.
English

@TheHarryBalczak Orks are my favorite xenos faction. They carry on a fun & humorous/absurdist element from the Oldhammer days I’m rather fond of. Careful with some of the newer lore stuff you find on Y’Toob as a lot of it’s shit imo.
In my heart, very little lore after 8th ed. (2013) is cannon.
English

@Montius13 There’s always something. If you’ve got one hobby, you’ve probably got 10
English

Another 175 curls committed to the #CurlCrusade. The heavier reps are fewer in number, but the tithe is still paid.
28,650 still owed to the Golden Throne.
Hope all the Big Homies™️ are having a strong week!

@Utahmus_Getamus @Grimedark @VDAREJamesK Yeah it’s been on the list to read for quite some time. Definitely the next 40k book I’m going to read. Praise be to Dan Abnett.
English

@Montius13 @Grimedark Eisenhorn is must read/listen.
Something has stuck with me since Paul had @Grimedark and @VDAREJamesK on to discuss 40K. Paul said he had read 'Eisenhorn' on Kevin's suggestion.. and that there seems to be a HUGE buy-in to the lore/setting. Per usual Paul is spot on.
English

Guard novels, and Guard-anything, are peak 40k.
The heroism of a normal human standing defiantly against horrific aliens and the force of hell is unmatched.
Without the backdrop of humanity, the space marine is no longer superlative.
Without fear, there can be no bravery.

SM novels: intrigue, the conflict of a Overman wishing to know Man, bolter porn CSM novels: evil ass motherfuckers that sometimes aren't evil because the author wants depth, themes and such Tau novels: fresh & naive and jaded idealists against the supernatural Guard novels:

Had time for 150 for the #CurlCrusade today. Was pressed for time, so minimal rest in between sets and I can definitely tell.
26,450 remain.

English

@Utahmus_Getamus @Grimedark The Gaunt’s Ghost books are easily my all-time favorite WH novels I’ve read (I’ve heard great things about Eisenhorn). Helsreach is a very close second, but a big part of that for me is the human/Steel Legion element.
English

@Grimedark After the Siege of Terra I'm going directly to Gaunt's Ghost
English

@Grimedark Thanks. Grew up doing a lot of Jeeping in the mountains, so when I found an older CJ7 in good shape I had to get it. Next goal is to drop a new motor in it. Just gotta find the time and $$$.
English

@Montius13 Thanks big dog, trying to outgrow the land raider
