It was a pleasure to hear Dr. Okonjo-Iweala speak at the MIT commencement ceremony. She highlighted that technology can help us in our fight against poverty and climate change but that public policy surrounding that technology diffusion is even more critical for inclusivity
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala@NOIweala

Great honour to be the 2022 @MIT Commencement Speaker. Spoke on the intersection of science, social science and public policy in solving todays global problems. With President Rafael Reif, @MITEcon Faculty, @MITdusp Faculty and Doctoral Students.

Event runs February 16-17 with a special overnight (DC time) session for Asia-Pacific! I'm particularly excited for all the sessions on typically underrepresented topics of climate action for the transport sector like adaptation and mitigation for freight and logistics systems.

Mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) can improve travel experiences *and* serve as a tool for governments to better plan, organize, and price different mobility services. New report on how MaaS technology interacts with transport supply, demand, and governance in developing countries.
Arturo Ardila-Gómez@aardilagomez

MaaS empowers users to access the most optimal mode (or modes) of travel on a trip-by-trip basis. To achieve this, MaaS provides a simplifying link between users and mobility services, often via a technology-enabled platform blogs.worldbank.org/transport/mobi… via @WBG_Transport

People living in cities have more mobility options than ever before; but greater complexity and fragmentation of services comes at a cost to cities and their residents. Mobility-as-a-service as a multimodal governance framework can help. New @WBG_Transport report has more!

Today is my last day at @mitenergy Mobility Systems Center. It has been a fantastic journey and the start of many life-long friendships and collaborations. Saying goodbye is hard, but I am thrilled to be joining @WBG_Transport on their transportation decarbonization agenda!
