BREAKING: The House has passed legislation to make Daylight Saving Time permanent nationwide, ending the twice-a-year clock changes by a 308-117 vote. Backed by President Trump, the bill now heads to the Senate. If approved and signed into law, Americans would no longer have to change their clocks.

9:00 AM Sunrise is more insane than most people realize. That's 1.5 class periods into school before the sun even rises. 2 hours into most blue collar workdays. That extra hour of daylight (in cold winter when everyone is inside anyway) from 5-6p isn't worth it at all.

The U.S. House will vote this week on whether or not to make daylight saving time permanent. Essentially, we would not change the clocks again (no "falling back"). As I've mentioned over the years, below are 3 options and how they would look in Indianapolis, IN: current system, year-round daylight saving time & year-round standard time. Year-round daylight saving time would result in a 9:02 AM sunrise and 6:23 PM sunset on the winter solstice.

Guy on here (staying anonymous) asked me for advice.
He’s ready to propose to his gf of 3 years. Says his girlfriend is everything he’s ever wanted.
One problem…
She has a terrible relationship with his family. She doesn’t like his parents, avoids them whenever possible, and has no interest in trying to fix it. She said “she’s tried.”
Family is one of the most important things in his life he said.
I told him this is the kind of issue that usually gets bigger after marriage, not smaller. It’s a deal breaker to me!
Any advice for him or is he cooked?

One of the wealthiest guys I know stayed in a 5 star hotel before getting the keys to his apartment, and he enjoyed it so much he cancelled the apartment contract & stayed in the hotel for 4 years straight. Never seen a person so happy and stress free in my life.

Can any men help me understand the aversion many guys seem to have to asking questions about/ actively being interested in the lives and interiority of women they’re getting to know?
I’m consistently hearing about this from women who are trying to find relationships— men who display seemingly no curiosity about the person they’re talking to.
What is this? Is it an actual lack of interest, or something else?
