Anybody who thinks these guys "didn't have a plan" are smoking crack. Bessent also had everything in place to capture maritime insurance from the City of London: everything was ready to go.
They haven't missed a trick. Watch and learn.
@amuse@amuse
WAR: Bessent authorized the sale of 140 million barrels of Iranian oil worth up to $15 billion. Gas prices drop globally. Iran gets nothing. The funds are frozen until a new Iranian government exists. This is what winning looks like.

Shunned by Democrats.
Demonized by liberals.
…and finally blocked by the GOP.
He didn’t care.
He has always tried to save America anyway.
God bless Elon Musk.

ELON MUSK: "Space solar actually costs less than terrestrial solar because you don't need heavy glass or framing to protect it from extreme weather events. So as soon as the cost to orbit drops to a low number, it immediately makes extremely compelling sense to put AI in space.
It becomes a no brainer. Basically, more of a as you go to space, you get increased economies of scale, and things get easier over time, whereas as you try to put more and more power on the ground, you run out of space and you start using up the easy spots, and then you get next level. Nobody wants the thing in their backyard.
So then increasing power on earth has becomes harder over time and more expensive over time, but in space it becomes actually cheaper and easier over time."

Mind blowing: Tesla & SpaceX just announced the TERAFAB project: >1 Terawatt of AI compute per year. 80% for space, 20% for Earth. If successful, this isn't just a new chip, it’s the hyper-commoditization of AI hardware. Here is the math on how this breaks the cost curve. 🧵👇
To model the price crash, we use Wright’s Law: every time cumulative production doubles, unit cost drops by a constant percentage. The formula is Cₓ = C₁ · x^(log₂(P)) Instead of scaling by 100x like rockets, Terafab aims for a 10,000x scale compared to current foundries. 📉
Right now, flagship AI chips are scarce (~millions/year), so cumulative doublings take time. Prices stay high. If Terafab hits 150B+ units annually, volume doubles in months. Per-unit cost violently compresses down to the raw cost of silicon & energy. 💥
Why send 80% of this compute to space? Because once chip cost approaches zero, the ultimate bottleneck is electricity. Earth’s grid can’t handle Terawatts of new load. Space offers unfiltered, 24/7 solar energy. No grid constraints. ☀️🛰️
esla builds the chips at unprecedented scale. SpaceX launches the orbital data centers. This shifts AI from bespoke, power-constrained Earth data centers to an industrial-scale orbital infrastructure. 🌌🔋

🚨 TERAFAB IS OFFICIAL NOW 🔥
Here's a summary of all takeaways from the Terafab launch event that you don't want to miss:
1⃣ THE "TERAFAB" PROJECT AND THE COMPUTE DEFICIT
🌍 Earth currently uses a tiny fraction of the sun's energy, and to truly scale civilization, power generation must scale in space.
🏗️ The Terafab project is described as the most epic chip-building exercise in history, requiring a joint effort between SpaceX, xAI, and Tesla.
📉 The current global output of AI compute is roughly 20 gigawatts per year, and all existing earthly fabs combined represent only about 2% of the capacity needed for a terawatt-scale project.
🤝 While the project will buy all available chips from existing suppliers like Samsung, TSMC, and Micron, these companies have a maximum rate of expansion that is much less than what is needed.
2⃣ THE AUSTIN MEGA-FAB
🏭 The project will start with an advanced technology fab in Austin, Texas, which will house all necessary equipment to manufacture logic and memory chips, package them, test them, and create lithography masks in a single building.
🔄 This all-in-one approach allows for an incredibly fast, recursive loop to test and improve chip designs.
3⃣ HARDWARE STRATEGY: EARTH VS. SPACE CHIPS
🤖 The project will produce chips optimized for edge inference, primarily intended for use in Tesla vehicles and Optimus humanoid robots, with robot production expected to reach somewhere between one billion and 10 billion units a year.
🛰️ A separate high-power chip will be designed specifically for the hostile environment of space to withstand high-energy ions and electron buildup, and it will run a little hotter than normal to minimize the mass of its radiators.
4⃣ MOVING COMPUTE TO SPACE
🌌 The ultimate plan is to build roughly 100 to 200 gigawatts of terrestrial compute capacity and a massive terawatt of compute capacity in space due to power constraints on Earth.
☀️ Space offers at least five times the solar power of Earth because it has no atmospheric attenuation, no day/night cycle, and no seasonality. Space solar panels will also cost less as they don't require heavy glass or protective framing for extreme weather events.
🚀 To achieve this, SpaceX needs to launch 10 million tons of payload to orbit per year. The Starship V3 rocket is a critical piece of this puzzle, expanding payload capacity from 100 tons to 200 tons.
5⃣ THE LONG-TERM GALACTIC VISION
📈 The next step beyond a terawatt is achieving a petawatt of compute.
🌕 Reaching a petawatt will involve building an electromagnetic mass driver on the moon. Because the moon has one-sixth of Earth's gravity and no atmosphere, payloads can be literally accelerated to escape velocity directly from the surface without rockets.
🪐 The overarching goal is to use sustainable energy, space travel, AI, and robotics to create an economy a million times larger than Earth's current economy. This could lead to a future without money where any conceivable need is met, and anyone could have a trip to Saturn.

NEWS: Elon Musk has announced that Tesla and SpaceX will start with an advanced technology fab at Giga Texas.
"We will have all of the equipment necessary to make a chip of any kind. In a single building we can make a lithography mask, make the ship, test the chip, make another mask, and have an incredibly fast recursive loop for improving chip design. To the best of my knowledge, this doesn't exist anywhere in the world (all in one place)." - Elon

@IndivisibleIndv @RossXhq @niccruzpatane Keep moving those goalposts; at this rate you’ll score an own-goal before the grid even blinks. ⚡🚗💨”
Don’t buy an EV to be green? Cool story—science called, it wants its receipts back. 😏
English

@Moonbase007 @RossXhq @niccruzpatane Oh electrical lines coming down in "real storms" aren't a problem? How do you think EV chargers work? You keep moving your goal posts, and spewing literal garbage. Do you know how much emissions a modern day car even makes? Literally 0 clue. Don't buy an electric car to be green
English

@IndivisibleIndv @RossXhq @niccruzpatane Power lines fall in storms? Gas pumps fall asleep without power too—difference is, my ‘fancy electric golf cart’ can sit full for days while your V8 is begging for the last drops at a dark Shell station. 🤣🤣🤣
English

@IndivisibleIndv @RossXhq @niccruzpatane “Bro, if modern ICE cars made literally zero emissions like you claim, we’d all be driving around in magical eco-unicorns instead of choking on tailpipe soup. Instead, you’re out here defending a technology that literally exhales climate change while EVs sip electrons
English

@IndivisibleIndv @RossXhq @niccruzpatane Oh buddy, let’s unpack this rant like we’re defusing a particularly angry piñata.
First off: electrical lines coming down in “real storms” — yeah, they do sometimes, and when the grid goes kaput, your home Level 2 charger takes a nap too. Shocking revelation!
English

@IndivisibleIndv @RossXhq @niccruzpatane Heroic effort, but the city’s lungs aren’t getting a free spa day from your Peterbilt. Keep the DEF topped off though—you’re at least not making it worse anymore!” 🚚💨
Adorable, but nope. 🤣🤣🤣
English

@Moonbase007 @RossXhq @niccruzpatane A modern semi with a current ATS can actually clean the air, by pulling in Nox and converting it into water and co2 and oxygen. Literally cleaning the smog out of a cities air.
