Overwhelmed with pride that my friend Georgie has a researcher credit for #BBCEarthAsia 🥰 We've been telling her since she was 16 that we'd see her name in a big BBC production one day and she did it way sooner than we expected, amazing, can't wait to watch it!
Just bought a swanky new oven after 13+ years and have successfully burnt/cremated my last 3 meals 😆 Now sitting on a stool in my kitchen like my nan used to, watching my dinner through the door - wish me luck for tomorrow's roast 🤣
About 2000 people enjoyed our little passion project, Big Biology Day, today. The only complaint was that it's not on for two days (or more) 😵 So grateful to everyone who enjoyed it with us & for those who help keep it free to attend. Sleeping for a day now ☺️
I'm all for saving the planet, in fact it's a great idea. But I will say losing paper gig tickets is the worst outcome of all of this. One of my the few joys in my life was my gig ticket collection.
Magnificent to see the #Aurora from my light-polluted garden again, but I can't ever shake off #DayOfTheTriffids so please remember my address when you wake up, peacefully slumbering friends..?
Listening to a book set in the arctic and it's annoying me NO END that when a cache is mentioned (frequently in this setting) the narrator *mostly* pronounces it as 'cashay' but only every 20 times or so, correctly, as 'cash'. Genuinely feeling taunted 😆
Celebrity Vampire Inquests are OPEN!
Ever wonder if Emma Stone is a vampire (she is)? What about Carrot Top (mortal)?
Hello, I am Dracula, and I am revealing all I know about which of your favorite stars are and are not vampires. Please leave inquiries in the comments below.
@fesshole Utterly baffled by this. You only get to punch if the yellow car is also a Mini, *and* you say 'banana car!' first *and* the punchee isn't driving at the time.
For about 30 years, I've always made sure that whenever I get a new car it's yellow. I get joy knowing people punch each-other whenever they see my car. 5 cars later and it still warms me.
@mariannaspring Thank you for what you do Marianna - I watched the entirely different issues in Southend last night inevitably get moulded to fit a particular narrative with dismay - we don't want to see any of it but it's imperative that there is accurate and impartial reporting on motives.
It’s now a familiar pattern: a violent attack, innocent people are killed, and X is set alight with unfounded - and often incorrect - accusations about the assailant's identity.
My analysis on social media’s role fanning the flames of Southport riots. bbc.com/news/articles/…
It's so good for imposter syndrome to get shoved out of your comfort zone at work 💪 Someone asked my advice on something that's not my bag and I got that old, exciting danger buzz - let's work it out together. It's been a while and it was a great feeling 😁
