@cdotharrison Tim Duncan was a pretty good #1 pick, what with 20 consecutive 50 wins seasons, and 5 titles immediately the year after they had they had the #1 overall pick losing record....then they were terrible after he retired

@fTidderwallow @DanielTurnerPTF Not even remotely true...Biden actually cleverly turned a profit for taxpayers when he refilled the reserves to a decent level. There is no mandated level, but a robust 400 million barrels at a cheap price was left for Trump. He did nothing whatsoever in 25-26 to add to it.

@DanielTurnerPTF President Trump could lower the price of gasoline by releasing oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, except for one problem. The SPR is empty, because Biden released all the oil that was there in 2024 to save his own ass.

@honeyybomb GOP took back house in 22 and both in 24 as a direct result of inflationary concerns. It is disingenuine to suggest that dems did not pay any political price. The main diffrence is that the 2 primary Biden gas inflation drivers (Covid & Ukraine) were not policy items like Iran

Democrats suddenly outraged about gas prices in 2026? Where was this energy when Biden’s prices hit over $5/gallon peaked $5.02–$5.16 in 2022 and averaged $3.45? Trump 1st term: $2.48 avg. Trump 2nd term so far: $3.40 avg. You didn’t care when it was Biden’s mess. Don’t pretend now. Pure hypocrisy.

Gas prices are rising toward $5 a gallon because of the reckless Republican war of choice in Iran. Enough.

@KyleNeubeck There was 100% a complete audit of Kobe's career in 2005 (missing the playoff) and losing twice in the first round in 2006/2007. By 2011 he was a five time champion coming off back to back title (3 straight finals) in 2011...of course no one did that after the 2011 year.

@_MNMuse He has one 50 win, 50-32 Clippers team in nearly 20 playoff series. His title run beat 4 mediocre W-L teams with 42, 43, 43, and 45 wins. The sentiment is valid. Jokic hasnt beaten a single good record team in the playoffs. It is probably a fluke thing, but it looks bad.

@BreidenFehoko I love Curry, but the reverse is the true. He never won anything without at least 2 other all-stars (usually 2 Thompson & Dray, sometime 3 with Durant). Steph has missed the playoffs entirely FORTY (40%) of his career. It is crazy how awful his team success is without help.

Michigan confirmed what all real basketball fans already knew: Dan Hurley is the 2nd most overrated coach in all of college hoops. (Dawn Staley is the most overrated.) The loudest coach in the tournament lost. Again. The quietest one cut down the nets. And frankly, Dan Hurley shouldn't have even been in this game. Everyone saw that Duke got robbed against UConn. Three title games in four years sounds like a dynasty. But the two championships Hurley won, in 2023 and 2024, came with historically stacked rosters. The 2024 team had Stephon Castle, who went fourth in the NBA Draft, and Donovan Clingan, who went seventh. Four of the five starters were drafted, including two lottery picks. UConn won every tournament game in 2024 by at least 14 points. When you have that much talent, you're supposed to win. That wasn't coaching genius. That was a talent avalanche. And the one year the talent dipped? UConn was an 8-seed in 2025 and lost to Florida in the second round. Hurley fought back tears in the postgame interview and admitted he thought about leaving. One year after turning down $70 million from the Lakers. This year, he restocked through the portal. Tarris Reed Jr., who transferred from Michigan, was the East Region's Most Outstanding Player, averaging 21.7 points and 13.5 rebounds in UConn's first four tournament wins. Reed had 17 and 11 in the semifinal. Then he lost the championship game to his old school. Michigan 69, UConn 63. And the sideline act has been exhausting all year. He was ejected from a game at Marquette earlier this season and fined $25,000 by the Big East. During the tournament, he got a formal warning for charging onto the court. Then in the Elite Eight, he went forehead-to-forehead with referee Roger Ayers after the win over Duke in what everyone saw as a headbutt. He said he thought the ref was coming over to "chest-bump" him. Ayers was not assigned to work the Final Four. After beating Illinois in the semifinal, the crowd booed Hurley during his postgame interview. He looked confused. "Are they booing? I don't know what they're booing." Yahoo Sports: "When is enough, enough?" Former Michigan coach John Beilein publicly criticized his behavior. Hurley said he's not changing. The full breakdown of how the loudest coach in the tournament lost the championship to the quietest one is here: itsgame7.com/news/dan-hurle… Now look at the guy who beat him. Dusty May was a student manager under Bob Knight at Indiana. He spent years as an assistant at places like Eastern Michigan, Murray State, and Florida. He took Florida Atlantic to the Final Four in 2023 as a ninth seed. Michigan hired him in 2024 to replace Juwan Howard. Two years later, he's a national champion and USBWA Coach of the Year. He didn't headbutt a referee. He didn't get ejected. He didn't get booed by a neutral crowd. He just coached. Michigan outscored UConn 32-22 in the paint. Shot 25-of-28 from the free throw line. Trey McKenney hit a clutch three to put them up 65-56 with under two minutes left. Yaxel Lendeborg played through a sprained MCL and a rolled ankle from the semifinal because he refused to miss the title game. Two championship games this weekend told the same story. Dawn Staley wore a $2,300 Balenciaga jacket with no South Carolina branding to the women's title game and lost 79-51 to UCLA. Dan Hurley spent the entire men's tournament headbutting officials, getting booed, and telling everyone he wasn't going to change, and lost 69-63 to Michigan. In both cases, the coaches who won did it quietly. Hurley is a good coach. He's made three title games in four years. He won two of them. But tonight, a coach who nobody was talking about outcoached a coach who wouldn't stop talking about himself. Michigan 69, UConn 63. First title since 1989. And the guy who won it never once made himself the story.

@game7__ Game is "Discretionary DEAD" momentarily after a made basket at the referees discretion even during live ball to prevent weird caroms and the ball rolling away until the other team picks it up. No technical is charged during a dead ball. Duke never picked up the ball....

It's rare that sports fans agree on anything. But everyone seems to be in agreement today: Duke got robbed this weekend. Dan Hurley and UConn have been flagrantly ignoring the rules for the entirety of the NCAA Tournament. Sunday was no exception. There were still 0.4 seconds on the clock. The game was live. Dan Hurley walked toward a referee on the sideline. He got in the official’s face. Then he pressed his forehead directly into the ref’s forehead. SI called it a “menacing forehead tap.” No technical foul was called. If it had been, Duke shoots two free throws. Down one. With an 86% free throw shooter at the line. Here's what actually happened and why this should be a much bigger story than it is. Braylon Mullins hit a 35-foot three to give UConn a 73-72 lead with 0.4 seconds left. It was the shot of the tournament. Nobody is disputing that. But in the seconds after the shot, Hurley walked toward a referee, got in his face, and pressed his forehead directly into the official's forehead. Sports Illustrated described it as a "menacing forehead tap." The clock still showed 0.4 seconds. The game was not over. A technical foul on a head coach for making contact with an official during a live ball is one of the easiest calls in basketball. There is no gray area. Contact with a game official is a technical. If it's called, Duke's Isaiah Evans steps to the free throw line, trailing 73-72. He shot 86% from the stripe this season. Makes both? Duke wins 74-73. Makes one? Overtime. That wasn't the only violation. When Mullins' shot went in, UConn bench players ran onto the court to celebrate before the game was over. They caught themselves and ran back, but they had already entered the playing area during a live ball. Duke's radio announcers immediately called for a technical. That wasn't called either. Two separate technical foul violations. Zero calls. In the span of 0.4 seconds. And here's what makes the Hurley part impossible to ignore. Three weeks ago, on March 7, Hurley was ejected from UConn's game at Marquette in the final second for getting in a referee's face. He was chest-to-shoulder with the official. Double technical. Ejected. The Big East fined him $25,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct. In the Sweet 16 against Michigan State on March 27, Hurley challenged an out-of-bounds call, got it overturned, and then sarcastically offered his glasses to the ref who got it wrong. Lip readers caught him asking about Lasik. Nothing was called. Two days later against Duke, Hurley was officially "warned" during the game for leaving his coach's box. Told to stay put. Then after the buzzer beater, he went forehead-to-forehead with a ref. Ejected and fined $25,000 at Marquette. Taunted a ref to his face at Michigan State with no consequences. Warned during the Duke game for leaving his coach's box. Then physical contact with a referee in the biggest moment of the tournament. The full breakdown of every missed call and what would have happened if any of them were made is here: itsgame7.com/news/duke-got-… UConn came back from 19 down. Mullins hit one of the greatest shots in tournament history. That part was earned. But two technical foul violations in 0.4 seconds, and neither one called, on a coach who was ejected for the same thing three weeks ago? That's not intensity. That's a pattern. And last night, it changed the outcome of a game.

@FirstDownMediaa A "live ball" after a made shot is momentarily "dead" until the other team retrieves it and lasts for referee discretion. There is no tech like you described in a dead ball. Duke walked away from the ball, and no way in hell they are calling it even if Duke quickly retrieved
