@MoosicTeech @UnofficialOA It’s a no win sometimes. Keep them in and learning is affected meaning lesson drop-ins look chaotic. Remove them and you can be seen as needing support if it happens regularly. As for bringing a student back that I’ve removed- I won’t have that. I’d be complaining!

“Every time I start talking I am interrupted, turn by turn, by at least 8 pupils. I can’t even give an explanation. When they’re finally silent for 30s, 3 pupils will raise their hand to ask to go the toilet or an inane off topic Q. Repeat for an hour. I’m quitting.”

@UnofficialOA Wasn’t even in our policy. But for some reason a lot of senior teachers would go maverick and decide to change it on the spot and do whatever they wanted. We should have authority in our own classroom

When people stop talking about how wonderful you are in hushed and awed tones for more than five minutes, it’s time to play the non-binary card.

@ICT_MrP I just quit. No longer a teacher. The job is 1/ not safe anymore 2/ not conducive to modern living 3/ doesn’t suit anyone with a young family they actually want to see. Now I can do every school concert, school drops off, pick up. I get to be part of my own family again

On Loose Women today they were talking about teachers having a bit more flexibility despite the holidays. We’re living in a world where more and more jobs are hybrid, flexible and built around real life. Teaching is one of the few professions that hasn’t moved with the times.

@Sim89776996 @waynetlc @WingsScotland She doesn’t think that way about money. She came from a very humble background. She donates a lot of money to charity, she’s the first billionaire to lose billionaire status through charitable giving. She runs her own charities.

@waynetlc @WingsScotland It’s the UK, her take home will be about the same as the amount she has to hand over to the government. I like JK but people like her never understand that they’re getting robbed blind. She likely thinks it’s her duty to stay in the UK and pay such insane amounts.

@RogersHistory I quit at the end of 2025. No longer a teacher. Someone said to me ‘you look really happy recently. It’s nice to see’

Do a tally - percentage of teachers you speak to who are unhappy and/or on the edge. It’s mad, it’s sad, it’s terrible. But predictable.

@JodyBerndt @DarrigoMelanie If you are going anywhere near someone under the age of consent whether it’s a teenager or someone under 13. They are a child and the adult in question is a paedophile. That’s not up for discussion. That’s the law.

@DarrigoMelanie I think the problem is people calling them pedophiles when pedophilia is sex with a pre-pubescent child and that's the wrong term of having sex with teenaged girls, a more appropriate term would be statutory rapist, and it is still horrible and a crime

Reminder for everyone discussing the Epstein files: "Underage women" are minors. Sex with minors is rape. Hope this clarification helps.

@RefilweSeboko Had my boy at 37 years old. I have health issues so I struggled with pregnancy but nothing that would be outside of the ordinary for my condition. My boy is healthy and happy 😃

@USI198 @Seraphange_ @CrystalDovah @kirawontmiss I pay a hell of a lot less to eat out at a restaurant in the UK than I would in the US. Yet we pay our staff a liveable minimum wage. And some do still tip on top of that.

@CrystalDovah @kirawontmiss If you can’t afford to pay staff a decent living wage so they have to rely on tips to survive don’t open a business. Take a clue from the rest of the world, tips are optional for exceptional service, not to pay your staff because you can’t.

@HagwithAttitude Many years ago I had an illness caused by medication I was on that meant I had to walk with a walking aid. My report claimed I ‘walked unaided’ - literally had a walking cane

So applying for PIP (was DLA) then, our experience.. I filled in forms, took Husband to interview, spoke for him, because, he can't walk, talk, read or write, but he was REFUSED it, and deemed for for work! And they think the people making the decisions know what they are doing??

The EBacc has narrowed the curriculum and is taking time away from the arts. The government’s curriculum and assessment review is a historic opportunity to reverse this decline for good. #theartsandmindscampaign The @NEUnion is proud to have signed a letter alongside hundreds of others calling for change. I will happily engage with you. But the second you start berating me just because I ask for evidence to back up your opinion, your opinion then becomes null and void. You can't accuse someone of something without evidence of it

I will never understand how some people believe name calling, and insulting someone is the best way to change their view? Im quite open to listen to any persons opinion but screeching that you're right, I'm wrong and calling me names just makes you look bad!
