@gideonstorytllr @BigSteelShips @OliverJia1014 @JamesEnsor He’s probably alive, but this photo is either completely AI or significantly edited. The purpose is to cover up the horrible state he is in, both mentally and physically. They could easily dispel all the rumors by letting a reporter or two in for a very brief 5 min interview.

@MoralQuery @BigSteelShips @OliverJia1014 @JamesEnsor Perhaps the likeliest explanation is he is indeed still alive but declining and no longer able to even pretend to carry out the functions of office, and they are just trying to clear the Aug 3 hurdle with anything beyond being a bonus.

Funny memes about Mitch McConnell aside, the replies are a mess. The fact that people have to ask Grok if this photo is AI, and then they base their entire worldview on what the AI says, is not a good sign of what’s to come.

Statement From Senator Mitch McConnell WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) released the following note to constituents regarding his hospitalization and recovery: “To my fellow Kentuckians – “When you elected me to a seventh term and made me our Commonwealth’s longest serving Senator, you did so trusting that I’d keep showing up to fight for you every day. And over the past several weeks, Elaine and I have appreciated both your well wishes and your honest questions about what was keeping me away from the Senate. “You all know how folks of my generation often hesitate to share the vulnerability that comes with growing older. Even in the public eye, I feel that same instinct – I can’t help it. “But at the same time, I’ve had more than my share of experience with physical vulnerabilities. Surviving childhood polio meant spending my entire life with mobility challenges. They haven’t exactly gotten easier to manage with age. And last month, I took a fall which landed me in the hospital. “My doctors have confirmed that I didn’t break any bones or suffer a concussion. I didn’t have a heart attack or a stroke. I don’t have any tumors or hemorrhages. But I was briefly unconscious and was taken to the hospital. While receiving excellent care over the past several weeks, I’ve also had to deal with a mild case of pneumonia. “I can assure you that I’ve been a good patient. At my age, I tend to do what my doctors tell me to do. I’ve submitted to every test they can think of to help figure out what caused this incident. And I’m continuing to do everything they ask to speed my recovery. In fact, with signs of continued progress, I’ve been able to move from hospital care to a rehabilitation center where I’ll keep regaining my strength. “As much as it frustrates me, this process takes time. And on the advice of my doctors, I won’t be able to return to the Senate floor to vote quite yet. But rest assured that, in the meantime, I’m not taking a break from the Senate business that matters to you. I’ve been working closely with my legislative staff on current issues, and with my Kentucky team who help me provide timely constituent services across our Commonwealth. I’ve also been keeping in touch with my Senate colleagues on the appropriations process, midterm politics, and everything in between. “You’re right to expect your representatives to work hard for you. And part of my decision to retire at the end of my term this coming January was being honest about the demands of Senate work. But I still have unfinished business to complete on your behalf, and I have every intention of finishing the job you elected me to do. “I’ll keep working hard to get back on the Senate floor as soon as possible. And I’ll keep you posted on the progress of my recovery. Until then, I’m so grateful for your prayers and well wishes.” ### From the Office of the Attending Physician: “Senator McConnell has experienced several falls throughout the year that have been attributed to his post-polio condition. He was admitted to the hospital four weeks ago after falling at home and sustaining minor injuries. “A comprehensive evaluation by a multidisciplinary team determined that he had no fractures, cardiac abnormalities, stroke, tumor, or hemorrhage. Early in his hospitalization, he developed pneumonia, which responded rapidly to antibiotic treatment. “The remainder of his hospital stay focused on physical therapy and strategies to reduce his risk of future falls. He has been medically cleared to continue fully participating in his intensive physical therapy program.”

@BigSteelShips @OliverJia1014 @JamesEnsor Also, if that one finger is curled under, it’s bent really sharply at the top knuckle instead of the middle one, which is pretty awkward and unnatural (unless he’s very double-jointed).

@BigSteelShips @OliverJia1014 @JamesEnsor The text is the lowest res part of the image by far. And I’m not talking about the finger being curled in, I’m talking about the super unnatural distortion in the newspaper below his finger - that’s not how paper behaves, except maybe in a video game.

@DJTechYT @johnholowach @Dumb_Marketing_ @OliverJia1014 Yours still looks like words. And look closely: the resolution is not consistent. The newspaper is lower resolution than his hand. I work a lot with Photoshop - and the only way that happens is if you layer a lower resolution picture on top of a higher resolution picture.

@DJTechYT @johnholowach @Dumb_Marketing_ @OliverJia1014 Um, “low res images” don’t cause weird, unnatural AI distortions in objects like the newspaper below his finger. And heck, even I can make a more readable AI newspaper image than this one. This one I just made has words - not random letters and symbols.

Lindsey Graham just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people! There are clearly a lot of emotions being flung around about Graham dying so suddenly. He was a war monger and diehard Trump Supporter until the very end of his 71 year life. If you think that my statement above is horrible, then blame Trump. It’s not mine. I wouldn’t wish death on my worst enemy. Below is the last known video of Graham. Yesterday.

Hi! I'm "Miracle Mitch". I had no heartbeat for a long time. When paramedics arrived and began CPR due to my catastrophic heart attack. Thank heavens it wasn't a heart attack, but merely a fall which didn't even bruise me. While I recovered from my non injuring fall, I defeated pneumonia, which is life ending for a man my age. Let me get this straight. For about a month, nobody knew if Mitch McConnell was alive, dead, or if a vote had been lost in the Senate. Then, the same day another Senator dies, McConnell pops up like the Undertaker at Wrestlemania ?

McConnell has been hospitalized and incommunicado for three weeks. People were speculating that he was dead or being kept artificially alive on a ventilator to prevent a special election for his seat in Kentucky. On June 14, independent jounalist Desiree Townsend reported based on EMS transmissions that a person had been found unresponsive and possibly in cardiac arrest at McConnell's townhouse, and that CPR had been performed by paramedics. This reporting was repeated by NBC, CBS and other major mainstream outlets. McConnell now describes this incident as much less severe than it sounded. CNN published video taken by a neighbor of McConnell being removed from his home by paramedics, as well as what they claimed were eyewitness accounts from neighbors, saying McConnell appeared to be unresponsive when being loaded into the ambulance and the paramedics behaved with a lack of urgency. Analysts on X noted that McConnell did not have an oxygen mask and that based on the equipment being used and the way paramedics were behaving, it seemed like they were transporting a dead body rather than a patient in need of emergency care. This seemed credible to me at the time, but it is inconsistent with the statement McConnell released today. A "Weekend at Bernies" scenario is totally conceivable because it has happened before -- Dianne Feinstein's office was run by her staff for several years after she seemed to be completely incapacitated. Right now, Iran is pretending that Mojtaba Khameini is its Supreme Leader, even though nobody has seen him since the airstrike that killed his father. On the other hand, this is not Iran, and the state does not control the media here (and even if it did, McConnell is not exactly friends with Trump). If McConnell's office claimed he was receiving treatment at a Washington DC hospital and this was not true, the claim would be debunked almost instantly. I don't believe they could successfully fake this. So my conclusion is McConnell is probably telling more or less the truth -- he is alive and conscious -- but possibly moderately downplaying the severity of his condition. Still, I would like to see more information reconciling McConnell's current condition with the evidence we've seen that suggests he suffered a severe health crisis. This is all very weird and the public's interest in knowing what is going on outweigh's McConnell's interest in medical privacy.

The oddest part about McConnell’s statement, is it doesn’t mention Graham. McConnell is a master of controlling a narrative and surrounded by plugged in staffers. But he said nothing for 4 weeks, and then decides to make a statement 12 hours after his colleague dies and says nothing?!
