Life is precious. Don't spend it chasing after what everyone else says they want to do. Don't do something that would have obviously been done anyway, if you hadn't worked on it. Make a difference that only you would have made.

@RolandRoesler The funding looks comparable to ERC Advanced at face value, but because Canadian graduate students and postdocs salaries are payed out from grants differently here compared to Europe, it would fund a lab at least twice the size in Canada.
