Having full fare integration, which means taking GO within Toronto would cost the same as a TTC fare (compared to double if you take it downtown from Scarborough), can save 30-45 minutes on trips downtown and other parts of the city for Scarborough residents. 7/x

In the meantime, there are two ways to improve transit immediately in Scarborough which are not talked about enough. Bus lanes on every major corridor need to happen ASAP. The city is taking too long implementing rapidTO on these corridors. 6/x

Not only did the hours of operation get extended earlier this week, trains are now running at the full 80km/h top speed in the tunnels. The speed restriction through underground stations has also increased from 30km/h to 45km/h

This summer, the Inner Harbour connects east to west in a whole new way! Waterfront Toronto, in partnership with the @cityoftoronto and the @TOPortAuthority, has selected York Bay Marine Services as the operator for the East‑West Water Shuttle Pilot - a seasonal service launching this June to test the feasibility of expanded water-based transit across Toronto’s Inner Harbour. Running from June through September, the pilot will connect three stops: ⚓ Ookwemin Minising (Port Lands/Biidaasige Park) – new ⚓ Yonge Street Slip (Central Waterfront) ⚓ Portland Slip/Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport – new The pilot advances a key recommendation from the Sea Bus Feasibility Study and supports the 2020 Marine Use Strategy, a long-term roadmap for expanding how people access and move through Toronto’s harbour.
