@Keith_CO87 Every rep touched the chest. Combine style (I play rugby) means that we soft lockout at the top, which is how things are done at performance combines :)

@MorganAgran Never a wrong time to be fit and strong 😃😅

@Michelle_812_ This was honestly great coincidence. Been dealing with wrist pain so I did an AMRAP with 135 instead of going heavy on Tuesday instead of my regular bench day and the timing was hilarious

@MorganAgran I was waiting for your 135# post 😆
Best I have seen all morning 😉

I have some thoughts on this and to be clear I’m a rugby player, not a bodybuilder nor am I a strength athlete.
I think that the reason many of the pro bodybuilders see such great growth with machines is that many started with free weight variations which allowed them to get increased benefit from the stability of machines
When I train absolute beginners (as a personal trainer) they have minimal stability and skill with lifting. They improve their skill fastest (in my experience) with a mix of free weight and machine based exercise and squat patterns.
And I would bet that many bodybuilders did get their start and run free weight squat variations for a while before moving to more optimal for hypertrophy exercises
However I do agree that for specializing in bodybuilding in the case of someone advanced, machines are the way to go

So many people even today in the gym still practicing barbell squats.
I don’t know why.
ROI is too low in terms of hypertrophy.
If your main goal = muscle building → switch to machines.
Smith machine squats, hack squats, leg extensions..
They keep you stable and hit the muscle directly.
Barbell squats are great for strength building, sure.
But for hypertrophy?
Machines > barbell squats.
Even Cbum mostly does Smith & machine work now.
There’s a reason pros choose efficiency over ego.

@wolfstrength Im 23, for body fat % I went with 26% because the an in-body at my gym gave me 24% (added 2% because I know in body isn’t the gold standard)
English

@MorganAgran Ya it doesn't depend on how much you can lift, though if you're in the mid 20s or higher you should be very strong. That said, 26 is exceptionally high for a woman - are you sure about bodyfat %?
