For the record, Trump has absolutely no power to remove Jerome Powell. His term ends May 2026, which will be the depths of a depression. The Federal Reserve Act establishes the Chair’s term as four years, and Supreme Court precedent (e.g., Humphrey’s Executor v. United States, 1935) protects independent agency heads from arbitrary dismissal. Removal is only permissible for severe misconduct, like malfeasance, not for differing views or performance.

I noticed this weird behavior, but I STILL Believed, falsely, that at least Trump would give himself a few days to enjoy the delusional "win" over China. I mean, come on--everyone has a room temperature-level IQ knows from the beginning this tariff policy is a total farce and doomed to fail. (3) a pop-up open Monday, if below 5500, would be a spot to short--however, I will use 5500 as a stop-loss level. You never know in this case, as the old saying goes, "those who have no face are invincible." (4) last time a Chinese leader called his counterpart in U.S. is after 9/11. A condolence call. Other than that, never happened. In what world Trump would fathom that XI would call him and make a deal. He, in fact, would pay a state visit to Vietnam, Malaysia and Cambodia on Monday. (5) on the retaliation front, the new exemption excludes pretty much 50%+ of all imports from China--it would come as a big surprise to many here in U.S., that the large majority of China's exports is high-tech products, not farm produces, which ironically, consists of the large majority of U.S.'s export to China. (6) like I mentioned two weeks ago, the real bottom of this tariff saga would ONLY come when XI picks up an urgent call from Trump, not the other way around. Also, for any negotiation possible, U.S. has to drop ALL the tariff, as a pre-condition, NOT AS A REWARD. Mark these words.
