Since this topic comes up from time to time, here’s a little background on our summer band uniform. 🧵

I would like to take this morning after a beautiful win to bring up the fact that our band still has not worn their official uniform. Very disappointing. I’ll let you decide what looks better (can’t even wear matching shorts) Please do better in the coming weeks

@tripp_jacks0n @maroonband Your point is a common counter-argument to anyone defending the summer uniforms, and I get it. Tradition and the idea of what we “should” do sometimes prevent us from accepting new ideas that improve safety.

@tripp_jacks0n @maroonband 1. The location where the visiting band sits gets shade for the majority of an evening game. The FMB section is in full sun for a while.
2. Every band is different and has different priorities and level of support. The summer uniform does add an additional cost to operations.

For ten years the directors of the FMB have chosen the health and safety of the members over comments like this.
How can you help? Advocate for funds to help cool the section and make full uniforms safer.

@jayyy_jermaine I think there’s a misconception among the general population that the FMB operates on an essentially infinite budget. How great that would be!
The band relies on the generosity of people who value their role in the Gameday experience. I’ve got my recurring donation set up.

@StarkUtilities Power blinked four times between 1-4am on a nearby street. It also blinked three other times since July 30. Will this work resolve that issue?

We are aware of a power outage on Daylily Dr affecting approx 15-20 customers. Crews are onsite resolving the issue and anticipate completion in 1-2 hours.

13 years ago the LHS PSAT program prepared me so well for the PSAT that I was able to go to college for free. I’ll be saying thank you for the rest of my life.
