This is both basic and a tad idealistic, but I truly believe making space for people to speak to each other and be heard is the key to collectively addressing seemingly insurmountable problems. It guides everything I do personally and professionally at this stage of life.

Three crows tried to gang up on me today and that just feels excessive when I was 100 per cent minding my own buisiness. I know they were probably just protecting their nest, but c'mon I wasn't going to seek out, much less hurt, their babies. Three crows at once??? Excessive.

The details on this mission are a master class in communicating that their work is intended for all of human kind, in a way that has subtly and is respectful, avoiding tokenism and silly rigidity that can sometimes come with signals of inclusion. It can be done.

Years ago, I would have rolled my eyes at the NASA Artemis II socials being so millennial humour coded, but I'm eating it up now. All these silly astronaut updates are possible b/c of a mission which has endured on the power of int. cooperation + friendship, despite everything.

At first I was like, ha she is so cool and really took the opportunity to shout out, often undercelebrated, blue collar work, that's great. Then I read the part about "all roles." These people are on a whole other level of competency.

Despite how many historic moments have sucked in my lifetime, today, humans sent a woman to travel around the moon for the first time ever (among other firsts on that crew). That's a real thing that I actually get to live to see. I think it's really cool.

This picture reminds me of cold in my bones that made me think I'd never feel warm again. It reminds me of how spring sucked, because snow would keep melting and re-freezing and made walking a hazard. Ottawa's mayor is doing me a personal favour by keeping nostalgia at bay.

4) Turns out, she's asking another young woman for help, absolutely distraught (probably because I left her to go play detective without explaining, in hindsight). I explain cop will bring her bag to her home. Other woman says she will drive lost purse lady home. Yay! Success!

3) I run into my friend who tells me she witnessed unknown woman w/ bag walking back towards city centre, where losts and founds exist. Cop tells my friend he's got the bag and will bring it to owner's home. But where is lost purse lady now?

Sometimes, it takes four good Samaritans in total to get a woman with limited mobility her purse back after she dropped it on the side of the road. Happy to report the relay of good deeds seems to have all worked out. Big Esquimalt energy saga.
