America and the world need a United Kingdom that is confident in its history and one with a capable military able to meet pressing challenges. I was impressed with King Charles speech to Congress in celebration of America’s 250th birthday. Like all Americans I prefer our Republican system of government. Like all Americans I’m glad that we don’t have kings, but I’ also glad that the UK has one. 🇺🇸 🇬🇧

The UK and USA have had their ups and downs but through it all we are bonded by our values of courage, resilience and sacrifice. We wouldn’t be able to deploy in large enough numbers especially if we cannot get a quick victory like we did in 1982. Britain is a shadow of itself in 1982 due to the incompetence and neglect of successive governments.

We would struggle to retake the islands now. You say they’re outdated but they’ve just taken delivery of 16 state of the art F35 jets
