Day/20 🏥 What medical benefits of cannabis are supported by research? Cannabis has been studied for decades, and while research is still evolving, there are areas where the scientific evidence is stronger. Current evidence suggests that cannabis or cannabis-derived medicines may help some patients with: 💢 Chronic pain – Particularly certain types of long-lasting pain that haven't responded well to other treatments. 🤢 Chemotherapy-related nausea and vomiting – Some cannabis-based medicines can help reduce these side effects in cancer patients. 💪 Muscle spasticity in multiple sclerosis (MS) – Certain cannabis-derived treatments may help reduce muscle stiffness and spasms. 🧠 Some rare forms of epilepsy – A purified CBD medicine has been approved in several countries for treating specific rare seizure disorders. These treatments aren't suitable for everyone, and in many cases they're used under medical supervision. It's also important to understand that "may help manage symptoms" is not the same as "cures the disease." Cannabis has shown genuine medical potential in some areas, but scientists continue to study where it is most effective—and where it isn't. Good decisions are built on good evidence, not exaggerated claims.
