Mortal Man Inn
@Mortalmaninn
Everything you imagined an old English Inn to be. Stories, songs and poems around the fire, enjoy with a glass of something nice and plate of something hearty.

Great publicity for @Mortalmaninn at Troutbeck in the #LakeDistrict this weekend. Picture of the #pub on the front page of @thetimes and then mention in @timestravel. @WindermereApp @FeatureCumbria @NotJustLakes

@RichardDawkins Yes it's like some sort of long Monty Python sketch. The whole system needs to be changed, not fit for purpose.

British Democracy
Next PM will be chosen by 0.34 % of the population, many of them UKIP members who just joined Tories for the purpose

These people think it’s “democratic” to refuse the whole electorate a final vote on Brexit
Just look at those smug faces

@NathArrowsmith1 In the 14th Century supposed 'immortal giant' John Hird lived up Troutbeck in Hirdwood. He walked every evening to a pub in Ambleside. He died on the fell one evening & rolled down to the very spot the @Mortalmaninn is now on. In them days they buried you where they found you.
English

@Mortalmaninn Ah, so Sally Birkett was the old landlady. Yes please tell me about the giant.
English

@Mortalmaninn I love your pub. I am intrigued to know when the pub was renamed the Mortal Man Inn and when that poem on the sign was written. It's interesting history.
